I guess those tyres & profile will make the bike a bit lower for us short people, Dunlop are making some great tyres, thanks

Ducati dealer lowered the suspension for me by about 1/2 inch and I bought a little lower seat for another 1/2 inch (I think). My inseam is only 29 inches. I dropped the bike three times on the first day when stopping, and forgetting to lean to the side of the bike where it was uphill. No damage because I have guards on the engine etc, but I think I scratched the one mirror. Since then I have gone maybe 5,000 miles and never dropped it. I guess you eventually get use to it. The bike was intimidating for a few months for me, but you eventually just get use to it and it became a joy to ride. It has been my favorite bike to ride in the rain. I do not worry about the tires in the rain.

Niceo video. Since I'm about to buy a Desert Sled next tuesday and this review of your was posted on 2022, I'd like to know if the bike is still good or if you had any major issues. Thank you.
@CanaryRide6 ай бұрын
Yes we have few with more than 60k. All good but major issue is that the tensors of belt are failing (twice) so better to change them before 48k (not cheap).

Really like this bike but too many minor issues from new. Replacing a timing belt at such low km's!! I'll stick with my cb500x for the moment. Just had its 12k service completed, no issues whatsoever

Yeah but it is in manual from factory to replace it. Otherwise all good

Hi just wondered what your Timing belt and vertical tensioners looked like after 24,oo0k. I ride offroad with my Scrambler and it apears the dust gets in through the casings. The tensioners look a little rusty and feel gritty to turn
@CanaryRide6 ай бұрын
These tensioners will eventually fail. Change it before 48k

Sorry couldn't understand... what did Ducati change so soon on the service?
@CanaryRide2 жыл бұрын
Yeah my bad I wasn't really clear in that. So they change the Ducati Timing Belt and thats why it is quite pricey (work hours) and mecanic told me that it is a bit overkiller because they are in very good condition after 24k km.
@Juanpasilver2 жыл бұрын
@@CanaryRide These timing belts are made of kevlar I believe. As with tires, they dry out if you do not use the bike but higher mileage do not affect them. Therefore, they should be replaced every + -3 years (Same as with timing belts for some older Ferrari models) disregarding of mileage. Ducati will always recomend replacing them earlier of course because their service departments are big sources of revenue for the brand's dealerships.
@CanaryRide2 жыл бұрын
@@Juanpasilver Thanks for insight! Good stuff mate! Well we do run bikes in rental so km are jumping up fast, but they changed it in 24k km and mecanic told me that it is bit overkill but has to do it :-)

To charge more obviously. Typical ducati and Ferrari practice. If you want honesty and a fair treatment and quote from service, you should go with a Japanese bike

@CanaryRide2 жыл бұрын
The warm up is solved by new firmware

Don't buy a euro 5 bike then. I test rode the triumph scrambler XE and Indian FTR Rally and both needed warm up.
@CanaryRide2 жыл бұрын
@@Dave-sw2dm Really? I rode them both too and don't remember it. Anyway there is no other option than EURO 5 motorcycles to buy as new, but never had such issue like with this Ducati but now it is already fixed with some update in service.
@Dave-sw2dm2 жыл бұрын
@@CanaryRide , I didn’t get to experience it since the dealer insisted on letting them idle before I rode them. He told me they have the issue. The Triumph idled at 9 mph and the FTR was like turning a switch between no throttle and barely any movement surged the bike forward. I think the small displacement bikes do better with euro 5 than the larger displacement which is probably intentional by the policy makers.
@meersonne832 жыл бұрын
@@Dave-sw2dm the issue seems to be solved. Still warm up but much shorter.

I rode one and I'm 5ft 8". It was ok, I could get both feet down, but not flat, so pushing the bike backwards whilst sitting on it for example was a little tricky. But even though it's pretty heavy, it oddly doesn't feel it ;) There are lowering options too.
