Thank you for your video. My husbands key fob stopped working on day all motorcycle shops were closed and thanks to your video we were able to get it working ourselves and for so much cheaper then if we would have taken it in to the shop

Thank you very much! I thought the problem in my xdiavel was the bike battery. So it was this damn key battery.

Nice instructional video.. I have the same key for my Multistrada.. I'm wondering though, how long do these batteries last? My Ducati dealer just changed the battery not too long ago.

I have two questions. Were you wearing a bluetooth headset or in a group with headsets ? Was your engine warning light coming on ?

How long of a ride did you do on your XDiavel? Curious on how it fares on long rides and its touring capabilities? Running with just a backpack or tank bag?
@elgordo787 жыл бұрын
Brandon Bicasso My biggest ride was from the middle of England to the middle of Italy for World Ducati Week (WDW) last summer, around 1700 miles each way. I split this into two days. The bike was super comfy with a tank bag. However I used a very large backpack, and this was my problem. It came level with my helmet and the windblast on the backpack pressed me harder into the seat and I had a really painful lower back and butt as a result once i had to cruise for longer times at higher speeds. The day after I arrived, I could ride with no backpack and all was fine again. Then for the return trip riding at 80-100mph for 12 hours, the pain returned. So I would recommend trying a small or medium rucksack and possibly an aerodynamic one with a back protector inside for your comfort too. Also for the ride home, I had the footpegs moved to the longest forward setting and found it more comfortable to cruise and rest my feet. It took a few hundred miles for the gear selector to work every time after being adapted but once bedded in it was perfect. I really recommend trying this change too.

Sweet. I haven't been able to talk to someone that owns one. I have a Suzuki M109R and have been looking for an upgrade. I test rode the XD several times, but not long enough to really experience everything it has to offer. If you could go back, would you still buy the XDiavel?
@elgordo787 жыл бұрын
Brandon Bicasso 100% yes. I have bad ankles from a crash in 2007 and so I can only ride feet-forward now. I heavily dislike the traditional Harley style, and was going to compromise and get a V-Rod or Nightrider. Then Ducati launched this machine and I ordered it before the demo models were available, rather than buy the Rod. Never done that before, and yet I don't regret it. The machine is simply awesome. Little features like the cruise control make long rides a breeze. The only crap thing is the Bluetooth music player linkup with apple devices is terrible, makes the audio unlistenable. Not so bad with Android. And they didn't make an XDiavel app even though the engine and system is capable so you have to link it with the multistrada app if you want to see lots of detail about your ride.

Brandon Bicasso PS there's a German based Facebook community to try if you want feedback. Also another named ducati xdiavel owners group that I'm waiting to join. British paper Motorcycle News (MCN) had a female staffer run one last year as a long term test machine and they mostly liked it. may be worth googling to see if it's available online to read.

Very cool, man. I always wondered how the Bluetooth functionality worked and what it showed. Can't find anything on KZbin about it. I'm contested between a Victory Magnum and the XD. Two different bikes, but coming from the M109R, I like the power. The 109 just isn't as comfortable as the XD and it doesn't have all the features. How has maintenance been on it since you've ridden it several thousand miles? Also, I appreciate the time you've taken to talk to me about it!

Kash Devingle yeah, took a bit of trial and error to find a spot where it seemed to move easier. certainly took a fair bit of push pressure.

Do not touch the new battery with bare fingers !!!! If you touch the + and the - together you make a short circuit and the battery is already half discharged !!!!
