Wish your channel would blow up. Your channel doesn't have the glittter and glamour of a typical channel. No music, no cutway shots, no bare ass cheeks hanging out in the background. Just some down to earth, behind the scenes, free-flowing thoughts and insights of someone with legitmate experience. Hope you keep posting..

The Neel 51 still impresses with its sheer living space and endless storage capacity throughout the yacht. It's really hard to believe when compared to the cramped quarters and lack of storage of other yachts (cats). Nothing quite like it in this size or price bracket. The Neel 47 has an interior window in the main deck cabin to view the nav station. To my surprise, I recently found out it's also available as an option in the Neel 51, yet I have never seen a Neel 51 video with that particular window outfitted, only on the 47. I can't imagine why any buyer would not want to have such a useful feature. Neel is also preparing the 52 for its debut next year around the end of summer. I hope they keep all the great features and layout of the 51 and just make improvements/refinements on a solid design. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. Many things I haven't thought of. Great video.
@carryonsailing2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks. You can easily make the window you mentioned but I wouldn't so you can keep the light out better. Matter if taste.

Your channel, along with those of SV Delos, Zingaro, Uma, La Vagabonde, and a few others, is one that I follow regularly. I found you because of the Neel 51 trimaran, which I think is the best blue option for cruising without having to pay twice as much for a good monohull. I'm from Portugal, and I love your knowledge, your wise explanations, and, of course, the video recording from Eva. I have nothing to say about your shepard, because I love dogs too. I hope you come back soon with a new boat and, who knows, maybe a new family. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your new stage. I wish you happiness, good health, and moments to share. Cheers!

Probably the best, honest review of a yacht that I have ever seen. I appreciate that you are a doctor and a presenter however, how much are you asking? Thanks for sharing your insights from a fellow English man with only 11years in the Royal Navy and 3 years racing. Your yacht is exactly what I’m looking for. Much love to you and your family ❤ I will ping you on your mail. I want to secure a yacht where I have a relationship with the previous owners, that they want to join for a month sailing every year.

Hey James, how are you doing? Pity to hear, you are selling, but spending more time with the family is always a good thing! I can fully understand you! Now is still quite early for us, since we are leaving with the ARC/worldARC end 2024, but the Neel 51 still is our favourite and it clicks almost all boxes for us! When is your deadline and where will you sell it then? Ads are online already? Curious about your ask too,... Wishing you all the best! Cheers, Jan

Thank you for sharing your insights. Would you have any guidance on Marina mooring fees for a NEEL 51 around the Mediterranean countries? Thank you, Bodo
@carryonsailing Жыл бұрын
Hi Bodo. Generally it's done per foot so it's not a big problem. Some do a little more for cats. The cheapest marina I have seen in the med is almerimar in Spain. Unfortunately there are not many anchorages in the med that I would say are comfortable in comparison to across the Atlantic. However of course you could download navily app and that would be your best bet.

I have been a traditional sailor, ie, monohulls, enamored with the nautical, romantic, sea faring interior styling, like the gorgeous Hylas 56 and the smaller Hylas yachts. I find the French yachts and all the multihull yacht interiors to emulate contractor grade spec housing. Yuk. I do not want to spend many hundreds of thousands of dollars and reside in a cheap looking, square cornered cabinet, laminated motel room. The Niels are not as bad as most, but still have the interiors of a 60th floor NY loft condo, rather than that of a yacht. But they are better than most. What is most impressive about the Neil is the sailboat design. Stable platform, smart helm station, speed, upwind pointing ability, intelligent layout and a Star Trek worthy external presence. Lots and lots to applaud in this boat. In my worthless opinion, I extol the Enterprise exterior, but just wish it could be integrated with a Black Pearl, or Hylas, interior. Alas.

James, how much kilo can the lift system and or the stern for the dinghy have? Do you know that?
@carryonsailing2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't put any more than I have already. You could use purchase blocks to increase it but do you really want to be pulling anything heavier up the beach or rowing something when the engine fails. My set up currently is spot on for off grid living Ultra. Don't go bigger or heavier. It goes through an electric captive winch from antal and I've used dyneem 12mm. So breaking strain of those to be exact.
@ultrarekt51142 жыл бұрын
@@carryonsailing Thank you for answering. I am seriously considering a Neel, which length not sure yet. The reason I asked is maybe to put a Seadoo on the stern. Or a small Williams if possible. In the documentation there is nothing specified. Personal side question: are you returning to the UK or do you stay in that region where you are now?
@carryonsailing2 жыл бұрын
Ultra, that weight of tender isn't possible or wise in any sailboat. A motor sailor like a sunreef above 60ft perhaps. Maybe a lagoon or fountain pajot where weight doesn't make a massive difference as the whole boat has little performance anyway. In summary don't do that. You will damage any boat that's a good sailing boat.

I like the 43 & 47 the 51 is just too big....if it's a monohull then I would get a 50+ but on a multihull over 50 is just way to big if you plan on doing a lot of solo sailing its good for entertaining many guests

Hi James, Sad that you are giving up sailing for a while. What are your thoughts on composting heads as an alternative to bidets?? My thoughts on black tanks are 🤮🤮🤮🤮 a smelly liability. Dry waste to my way of thinking is much more sanitary to dispose of rather than a tank of sewage.
