Very pretty and well fitted out picnic boat. Looks as nice as a Sabre. Former owner of an Albin 27. Had the aft cabin version, flush cockpit, no motor box to walk around, Westerbeke 100hp 6 cyl naturally aspirated gave 12kts WOT but cruised best at 8kts burning stupid little fuel. Similar hull. Soft chine, full keel, basically a New England lobster boat below the waterline. A pocket trawler was the description of it. We averaged 30 nights a year on it for 13 years. If looking for another boat a picnic boat 28-32 would be in contention. Boating is in Bermuda so want something for overnighting.

This particular motor was almost too powerful for the boat because as WOT the prop warp wanted to heel her over a bit. But at normal cruise in high teens she was sweet and just loved cutting up the chop. I would take the standard motor they offer and a bow/stern thruster and be so happy with that.

Great information. I am wondering how loud the engine is based on where it is located on the boat. What are your thoughts on its location, and how it is insulated? Where is the exhaust located?

Bonzer Dan. Excellent review of what this craft has to offer. I like your videos over and above many others because you actually put to sea and whilst underway we can get a true idea of what the running experience is really like. I also like the way that you put yourself in the scene so that we can see how the interior space "works". Other 'experts' wave the camera about badly and from behind the camera show a cursory half-baked explanation arising from little relevant first-hand experience of boating. These days, fuel cost (hence range) practicality and value per wave are key.
