This show hit homes and hits differently to those who hunt for the camaraderie and the joy of sharing the experience with those they love. Shooting at the biggest bull or the limit of ducks or the rankest swamp pig means next to nothing without someone to share it with at least for me. Y’all are on to something special with this series. Somehow you’ve made tens of thousands of people feel like they are sharing this hunt with y’all in the blind in real time. Thank you for taking the time to record it for us And take us along with y’all when you go.

By far my favorite DCD. Mr Bourgeois is soul of the outdoors that we are losing. Everything for hunting now is made to be easier. There’s no satisfaction in a hard hunted season with little payoff because time spent outdoors has been lessened in value. Kids are being taught to hunt corn instead of teachings in tradition. Hunting is not instant gratification. It’s a respect for wildlife and a slow cooked pot of organ meat when you’re successful. The cinematography really impressed in this episode! Made me want to be anywhere on the water in Louisiana. Now season starts in Mississippi next week and I’ll be in a tree doing my best to get some meat for a long gravy. Happy hunting y’all

"Don't Die with Me", Wow what a way to honor your heritage and share the culture with the world. Whether it is music, food, language, religion or just southern hospitality at it's finest, it is worth preserving for our future generations. Hunting and fishing and trapping and preparing the bounty of the harvest has been in our blood for centuries and what a better credo to live by than , "Don't Die With Me". Great diverse episode with unique local legends and personalities. That's what DUCK CAMP DINNERS is all about......Oh yeah and the FOOD and DRINK ALSO. BRAVO Chef J P and CREW WELL DONE Thanks to Conoco Phillips for being a steward of the land....And to cap it all off you end up at HOBOVILLE with the gang.....It don't get any better than that!

What a beautiful way to showcase Louisiana culture, history and outdoor life. From the cinematography to the story telling to the excellent culinary skills. Thank you for this series! I’m 68 years old and my Dad started bringing my brother and I on duck hunting and fishing trips when we were 8 and 10 years old. I remember crossing the Atchafalaya River in 2 to 3 foot waves scared to death, then getting into a pirogue with Jerry Breaux and him telling my brother and I don’t move or we’ll sink the boat. One time walking to the blind in the spillway my little brother, Matt had a brand new Ithaca 20 gauge auto, you guessed it, tripped on cypress knee and dropped his gun in two feet of water, cried the rest of the way to the blind and halfway through the morning. What great memories. I don’t get to hunt anymore so doing it vicariously through these videos is the next best thing. Thanks again and keep on keeping on.!

Anyway, duck season opens this Saturday and my old man and I are getting up real early and going for a hunt, these videos are getting me pumped up to get the barrel hot on some wood ducks and then sit around having drinks and getting a good family dinner ready in the afternoon ( we're making a Newfoundland boiled "Jigs" dinner with salt beef and pork cottage roll with cabbage, carrots, and taters.)
