My friend and I got caught inside BAD in like a 20ft set and we were riding small step ups. I bailed and swam under. My buddy tried to duck dive and it ripped the leash plug right out of his board with the foam and everything lol. We ended up boogie boarding in on one board 😂😭. Duck diving big waves is definitely an art. Interesting

I have never surfed anything close to this but that gives me chills knowing he ducked a wave that big. That confidence in your abilities is absolutely necessary to surf these waves, that's why I never got close to waves like this. Nevertheless, bailing is almost always a bad idea, unless you're a real man or a real woman surfing waves of consequence.
@martynweigh45414 ай бұрын
With all that experience dude went for the first wave in the set and didn't catch it at Mavs😮
@jan_hulka5 ай бұрын
this is sick but can someone please explain me why they all drop in on each other? Like is it ok to do it in big wave surfing for some reason? I thought only beginners do that thing...
@pestilence93244 ай бұрын
More people go for the same wave cause a lot of them aren’t gonna actually get in the wave, but if more than one person does get on the wave it’s dangerous to bail because then you can end up over the falls, the board could hit the other surfer, etc. it’s worse to not commit, you want to keep control of yourself and the board. Also plenty of room on the bigger waves haha

Your channel with the best surfing videos. What bothers me is that you see a lot of wrong choices by high wave surfers. 20-30 feet deep from the correct location of the break. Clicks culture or lack of experience or just stupidity... I don't know, but it's disturbing.

I dont understand? Sometimes we push through, other times we get caught in a spot where ya cant push through. He was in the right spot. Anywhere else he would've been over the falls. Right spot, right time. Its not some untouchable super feat. Is this another one of them armchair surfer things wondering how we surf? Fair enough. That next left was awesome.
@wormgun95865 ай бұрын
Lotta ego in this comment. Were you out there? I didn’t see you paddle for any of these monstrosities. It’s certainly not the same as duckdiving your home break. Weird comment man.
