I go duck hunting in the Florida Everglades with my dad and brother! We shoot some blue wing teals and I bring them home and make duck poppers! The poppers were delicious with jalapeños, cream cheese and bacon!

Good job on the duck poppers. It used to be one of my favorites. One thing you can do to make them even better is to use a meat mallet to tenderize before marinating the duck. You can even gain some extra poppers & they will melt in your mouth. Another good recipe are Kabobs. Add butter milk ranch to your Italian dressing, cut ducks into bite size pieces, marinate for a few hours, skewer alternating bacon & duck pieces. Cook over a very hot grill searing the bacon & duck to a medium rare. Typically not more than 3-4 minutes. I remove everything from the skewers and just toss in a bowl. Set out the tooth picks & watch it all disappear. 99% of people can’t tell the difference between the duck & filet mignon. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Hells yeah! I’ve been duck hunting now for a few years in Louisiana. I’m not very good at it but it’s probably the single most frustrating AND rewarding outdoor activity I’ve ever done. We’re moving back to Florida in a few months and it’s good to see that I’ll be able to continue the hobby once we’re back there.

As a thought, to help reduce the bacon fat flare ups, try smoking the poppers. It may take a little longer, but it will add another flavour & umami. Great to see u duck hunting with ur family. I enjoy all of ur videos but the duck hunting one is always my favorite. Duck season has been tough here in CA so 5 ducks I would be very proud of that even with 3 people shooting. You should hunt ducks more than once a year.

Great vid. A tip to help with birds actually wanting to light in your decoys and make the shooting a little closer and easier, try and set so the wind is coming from behind you or crossing. Even a quartering behind wind works. Put the bulk of your decoys where you don't want the birds to land and they will often land just short of the densest bit of decoys. Leave the open pocket there and, if they are interested in landing, should attempt to light right in that hole.

If you never had roasted duck stuffed with RAISIN STUFFING you haven't lived. Duck poppers are in second place to that. 5 C apples, diced 1/2 inch cubes peeled 1 cup raisins (golden or regular) 3 packs of crispy crackers (unsalted-saltines) crushed 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 1/4 cup or more water salt lemon juice DIRECTIONS Combine first 5 ingredients. Then, wet down mixture with water. Salt duck inside and wipe with lemon juice. Stuff mixture inside duck and cook according to duck directions.

Gunman 101….never get dirt in the barrel or dip any part into water. As for shooting. Yikes! Helpful hint. Start at the tail and move through the bird squeezing the trigger as you reach the beak with a smooth swing all the way

You know that gaters are warm blooded and require warm ambient temps to stay active. In cool weather they slow down. They could be there, and not care about you unless you stepped on them.
