Hunted for 50 years. My dad always made stews for our hunting dogs with duck, pheasant, quail, goose etc. Vegetables of all kinds. Had many of our dogs live to 15 plus years plus we always gave them small amounts of chocolate during the hunting season when we were out in the field. I have heard these myths about this kind of thing but have never experienced it. Our home-made food was much better than the over-salted cereal filled crap that is sold as dog food.

I'm conflicted, the chef in me would have boiled the bones and carcass in a separate pot to make a broth, then browned the meat before straining the broth and making the soup. And the outdoorsman in me is just relishing the simplicity of it all. Good video, man.
