Howard The Duck is a good slice of classic 80's cheese. One of my favourite action comedies from this era. So camp, so cheesy, so awesome.

Just looking at it, and the fact that George Lucas produced it means that it was in all likelihood Industrial Light and Magic. They had a technique called "Go-Motion" (instead of stop-motion") that smoothed out the traditionally jerky effects of stop-motion animation by giving it motion blur. It's a cool effect. Thank you , Movie Magic.

Growing up in the 80s was a fascinating time. Lots of great movies. It was the pre-internet days where kids would literally go outside and play. Nintendo came out in 1985 then other consoles came after that. There was no cell phones we have today, all we had were payphones. Pagers were a thing too. Times were a bit simpler then.

Also, a thought crossed my mind. Dark overlord had Beverly tied up to transfer another dark overlord into her..... "Dark overlords can not exist on this planet unless they grow inside a human body". So when it's out and fighting Howard..... Why is he transferring more dark overlords, while disintegrating potential hosts?? I get killing Howard, but doctor Jennings is there to grow one more (why he's still alive is another complaint) but that directly leaves Beverly and philsie....... For a near all powerful monster, he's not very bright.
