As a fellow Tergrid player I have to admit, that deck is only fun for the one who's playing it, it gets super damn funny when people throw their stuff at you and you beat them with their own cards! Also, small note, since this was mentioned too, Death Cloud and all "pox" effects, like small pox and pox, resolve in the order that they're presented, Tergrid only steals the cards that she can see getting sacrificed, so, if you have to say, sacrifice your own Tergrid to a small pox, you don't get the lands from it.

Yeah, Tergrid definitely needs to be dealt with the round she hits the table!

I know this was two 2 years ago, but while considering to add death cloud into my tergrid deck. I noticed Brenden didn't sac Tergrid. Tergrid should have been back in the command zone as pox-like effects such as Small Pox, Pox, Death Cloud resolve in order as presented on the card. This would have given his opponent's a turn to band together and think of a strategy. My Tergrid deck has wincons because I've learned the valuable lesson that once she is targeted down I may struggle to get her back out if I don't take advantage of her ability the same turn or the turn after (if I get the chance, lol).

Lol the way the Tergrid player taps cards is pure evil.

I have never played EDH before, and I just built a pretty oppressive Tergrid deck. I had most of the cards because I had a lot of fun playing her and Professor Onyx in standard. I was invited to play for my first time with some new friends and now I'm questioning my decision since these may not be friends for long.. At least I have an infinite combo in there and tutors for it to close the game once it gets out of hand.

Why does the tergrid player take the sacrificed lands? Shouldn't tergrid have been sacrificed along with the creatures when the instance to sacrifice creatures came? Or shouldn't the creatures he got from the discarded hands be sacrificed in such a case?
@StanleyKuo184 Жыл бұрын
As the controlling player, he gets to decide the order of the sacrifice. He can sac his Tergrid last, allowing the effects of her ability to go off first.

pretty sure tergrid also should have died when he played the death cloud and not got the lands correct?
@dante123453 жыл бұрын
Death Cloud has 4 sequential events; 1) Life loss, 2) Discard, 3) Creature sacrifice and 4) Land sacrifice. Tergrid will trigger for the cards that were discarded, since she was on the Battlefield to see they get discarded. She will trigger for the Creatures sacrificed, even if she was sacrificed at the same time as the other Creatures. She will only trigger for the sacrificed Lands if she was still on the Battlefield; ie. She was not among the 6x Creatures that had already been sacrificed.

Overall good game but yea I hate tergrid. Such a obnoxious and annoying card. Its a commander I kill on sight and burn with fire asap. Once they start stealing all my stuff then they become number one target for me. I do not caring about winning at that point just doing my best to beat or ensure the tergird player can't win.
@MTGSavage2 жыл бұрын
Why is the Tergrid player surprised at what the deck does? Tergrid is cancer as a commander and extremely obnoxious. I wouldn't even give the Tergrid player the satisfaction of taking all my shit I'd scoop so they just wasted their turn ESPECIALLY if they just durdle and don't know how to win with it.

The main issue with THIS deck, is that is not built to win. There are controlly versions of tergrid (such as mine), that can actually close the game, even in low budget. When the deck is built entirely around her, she gets progressively weaker, since one less player means one less font of resources to steal from. When the deck is build as a consistent stax with her as just another pay-off (albeit, the strongest one), two things happen: 1) you can finish the game much sooner 2) you are less commander dependant, making the deck more consistent.
