In this video I try out the new FIMCO 40 Gallon 3 Point Hitch Boom Sprayer doing the first tick spray on the property. I use Talstar P insecticide and try both the spray gun and spray boom for full coverage.

In my part of western ny ticks have become bad. Spent the first 47 years of my life without an issue. The last 3 years daily tick checks are the new norm. Nice investment and it seems like there are more choices available especially in the organic all natural areas too. Good luck and have a great night.

The milder winters we've had the past few year I think might have something to do with it! Thanks for watching!

Let some air out of tires for better traction. Bring the tick spray to our house, ticks are a nightmare in Canton. Talk soon.

I have the same sprayer...only in a boomless model. It sprays a 30' swath. You can shut off two nozzles and use only one...tilt the nozzle up and you can cover some pretty brushy fencerows. The pump and everything works great...HOWEVER...the tank is cheap. Notice there's no warranty on the tank itself. Where the tank bolts up to the frame...WILL start leaking after a few gallons of use. And those spots are VERY hard to patch or plastic weld. Fortunately, you can buy a replacement tank for about $150. I'm on my 3rd one.

Oh that’s a good idea! Never thought of that…yeah the tank is crap. I’ve been very careful with mine, done about 8 40gallon tick sprays so far with no issues

For whatever reason, this year ticks are everywhere here in CT. I take several off my dog daily… and often I find them crawling in the house. They also, seem different this year… way larger and very tough to kill

Here in southwestern CT they've always been bad, one of the highest populated counties in the state!

Any updates on how the Fimco 40 Gallon 3 Point Boom Sprayer has lasted for you? I was thinking about getting one, but have seen some other videos where the tanks have leaked.

It has continued to work well for me. No leaks out of the mounting bolt holes like others have experienced. Be sure not to over tighten those bolts during assembly. I don’t use it often, maybe 4 times a year on my property for tick sprays. Well worth the investment considering a company would charge about $300 per spray. Draining and winterizing it properly goes a long way.

How is this still working? I was gonna pick one up for my BX2680 for spraying 24d but some of the reviews are pretty poor on this on TSC's website. Leaks from plastic seams, bolts on the bottom. And that if you're on slopes the bands don't hold it so well. Thanks!

Still works just fine. Just can’t over tighten the bolts and straps. I use it for tick sprays about 4-5 times a year

@@DudeRanchDIY Cool. I read a lot about the bolts leaking and thought, why not use some RTV on them to seal. Who knows. I'll probably be picking mine up tomorrow unless my local implement dealer can find something better. 40 gallons is overkill for me, but it should work fine on my BX.

Yeah, you could do that, from what I’ve read, I think the issue is more that people over, tighten the bolts and crack the cast plastic causing leaks.

Forgot to mention if you have extra offer it to your neighbor to clean out the tank. Our neighbor offered that to us and that’s how we got into it. Just saying lol.

I've offered it to him! He planted a bunch of new grass a few weeks ago, I don't think he wants the tractor on his lawn quite yet!

Ended up trading it in for a 52” scag hydro walk behind. Much better suited for the property.

It has been my experience (along with my local Tractor Supply dealer) that Fimco products are inferior to other brands. 1. On most, if not all DC models, Fimco uses to week of a pump. 2. Sprayers don't give even coverage. Especially in the middle. It will be light there. 3. FimcoCustomer Service absolutely SUCKS. Again, even my local TSC friend (who is the manager) does endorse them.
The best TICK and CHIGGER spray you'll ever use (3 different brands)
