I don't want to nitpick, just thought I'd mention it in case you were interested in learning. That's not vibrato. He actually doesn't use any vibrato on that word. He's just moving between two separate notes, not fast enough to be a trill, but in a scoopy kind of way. It's a very nice effect, very common in pop music of the 70s-80s.

Its sort of a bittersweet thing honestly. One one hand, I absolutely adore Idina Menzel and am so happy that she has become globally known due to Frozen. Seriously, it isn't often that a broadway actor/actress breaks into mainstream American cinema, let alone to the degree she has and I think she is an inspiration and role model. On the other hand, its created an entire new generation of people who only know her from Frozen, and it kind of hurts my soul to know that there are people unaware of how good she actually was when she was acting on Broadway. But you know what? Good for her. We know her from all of her old work, but its understandable that people born after the early 90's wouldn't know her from anything else, especially children born after 2000.

When ever I listen to the songs from Rent or watch the movie I just think of Jonathan Larson creating this magical powerful musical and the lost his life before Rent made it's Broadway debut. But also Rent and the songs reminds me to never forget of the gun mass shootings that we have this past decade. The Sandy Hook, the one in Paris, Parkland school, Orlando Club, the concert in Vegas, and the country night club. Rent made me think for one another, listen to the ones who suffers a lost, listen to their hard times and just find a way to help them. And just bring Seasons of Love to everyone.

2:15 - 2:30 2:38 - 3:11 I C O N S I actually LOVE this entire cast & song but Tracie & Jesse have the strongest most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. I legitimately cried watching them perform this song on the RENT live show. I love them.~❤️

I Love that song.... they had a Great cast as well for the movie production of RENT. I remember when that played open on Broadway in the 90s.... my daughters highschool theater group just happened to be in New York..... when she phoned home to let me know that they got there safely I told her teacher about the play just opening.... he took the kids to see it! They All said it was wonderful!

This story goes so much deeper than just this song. It is an important reminding of what we, as a gay community went through. AIDS was a killer, and when you were diagnosed with it, you had better say your goodbyes. We were pushed to the fringe of society at that time, due to bigotry, hatred and misunderstanding, and no one wanted to hear our story. Now, gay men and women are allowed to live out loud and proud because of the stepping stones we laid out for you. Please be thankful (and say a little prayer) to my friends who have passed and allowed you to live the life that you are able to now.

When this story is supposed to take place, I graduated from nursing school and my first job before I went into surgery as a specialty, I was assigned the night shift on an AIDS floor in San Francisco. I loved each and every patient. They loved me back because I was the only nurse that walked into the room with a smile on my face. When I had one passing or more than one person each and every night, I had to stop. I was as arriving and departing in ugly crying tears. But I miss my guys, some of the most appreciative people in my life.

I love how young I was when I just happened to watch this on cd. I learned a lot from this movie and despite not understanding some parts as a kid, it made me sobbed for each character's struggles in life. It really opened my eyes and I think that's what helped me become open and understanding to ppl around me. I think this movie played a huge role why I love performing on stage. Especially this song, you just can't help but cry. Also i was shocked to recognize Idina Menzel! Let It Go is so iconic.
