Valek Zendu dude you still would’ve hated it. It sounds interesting and I would’ve like to see it on screen but I think the one we got is a better conclusion to this admittedly (from a big fan of the sequels) confusing trilogy.

Right? As the person who created the characters of Rey, Finn, and Poe, you would think if anyone would get the characters right, it’d be JJ. But no. Colin did better by the characters than the person who created them. That is my thoughts. The main thing I don’t like about this script is Simp Poe. I don’t like that Kylo Ren killed Rey’s parents. One thing I thought would be cool is if Rey’s parents weren’t force sensitive but were scientists that created Starkiller base. She’s kind of another Jyn Erso. But her parents weren’t forced. They were bad guys. But that reveals her name to be Rey Starkiller. Which obviously was Luke’s original last name. Just a cool Easter egg. But Solana works too. I really don’t even have a problem with her being a Palpatine. Just the way it was executed.

This movie would be so out of place in the sequel trilogy due to it being made by a Director who clearly HAS done his Star Wars homework and the writing is actually brilliant, I feel bad for Colin Trevorrow he would’ve been considered the saviour of Star Wars 😔

@Elijah Neil i think Disney and lucas film decided way too fast what they would do with the passing of Carrie Fisher. They could have waited before making a decision and check how they could solve the problem with Treverow script. Or they could have change and made reshoots for tlj. So that they could have Luke to do what Leia was supposed to do. Or strait rewrite. Many aspects were missmanaged with this trilogy.

Leia does so little in this script she could be written out, and then have the film start off with Poe not knowing what to do with the Resistance. I mean having a character die offscreen is kinda bizarre, but so is resurrecting one, so...

@@amanshukla6122 Not 3%. *The majority of Star Wars fans* genuinely dislike The Last Jedi. The Last Jedi dropped ticket sales compared to The Force Awakens from 2 Billion to 1.3 Billion. The drop went *way to far* for a follow up story. And this was the *first time* in Star Wars history where the toy sales were actually *failing.* Clearly something isn't right over here.

No it's not. It was just a working title first of all. Second. It's already a thing...u know? Remember? The Lightsaber Battle between Maul, Qui-gon, n young Obi-wan. It would not have been a good final title.

@@caderen5624 nah doesn't fit with the sequel trilogy n the prewuels already has it. Maybe something similar inspired by it. But surely not just the same exact thing. Isn't that one of the biggest complaints about the sequels that they weren't original enough n kept rehashing old formulas n ideas.... That wouldn't be helping. Either way I don't like it, I don't even think it fits honestly but that's my opinion n yours is obviously less thought out n more emotionally based on prequel nostalgia. So yer probably a prequel era fan who thinks they're the greatest SW ever which.... You're entitled to your opinion. But it's still a lame one.

I just would prefer if they had made this film a original name something more creative maybe inspired by it, with the word Fate or Destiny in it. Neway I do like the script too for the most part. N I like your idea of calling back n ending where it started sort of, which Rise does in a way too. I just think there's better ways of doing it for both Rise & Duel. I'm happy we have both tho. I enjoyed the movie even tho I feel a lil let down. N the script provides more closure n catharsis for me.

You know dark horse did make a comic book adaptation of the first draft of the original Star Wars with the art based off of Ralph mquarrie’s original concept art we might get the same thing with this one maybe as a what if scenario

Colin's version takes the story in such a more unpredictable and interesting direction. The visuals from that concept art that same with the script blew me away. It's such a shame we will never see that story realized. I'll never really know, but I think I would have been much more satisfied with this.

Man, that Poe/Rey romance would have infuriated even more fans into Mary Sue-bashing of Rey. Everyone really falls in love with her for some reason! But overall, there are some cool points but I'm not sure this movie would have been better than RoS. And I really hate the shortchanging of Kylo/Ben's redemption, he's a lot more of a villain here. I would like to see the rest of script read though! I liked this a lot.

I’ve recently have been watching “Star Wars Rebels” and I’ve recently saw the episode of when Ashoka Tano is meditating in the Jedi temple on Lothal while waiting on Kanan, and Ezra. She hears anakins voice and he asks “why did you leave” continuing to say “you have failed me. Do you know what I have become”? Then he turns to Darth Vader. Did she actually connect with Anakin/Darth Vader? Like a dyade ? Or was this something she saw due to her mediation inside the temple? I found it very interesting and I really hope you could help me with a theory, thank you. May the force be with you 🙏🏻
