Having some fun with the Gold Tone BG-10 ten string banjo. I added ML-1 baritone strings so that I could tune each course an octave apart.
Normally, if tuned to open G, only the low D and G strings are tuned an octave apart on this banjo because attempting to do so on the higher-tuned strings would snap them. However, by tuning this down to C with the baritone strings, it's just barely possible to have the high open C tuning as well by having a high G string where the D string is and using the spike at the 10th fret to tune the short fifth string up to C. I also had to route the high G (C) string through the tunnel and cross it with the low C string at the fifth string tuner because the wound string kept snapping when I routed it through the tunnel. Overall, I think the baritone sound gives this banjo a pretty unique sound!
