I like this a lot, particularly how you carry on regardless as your kid wanders in front of the camera and how you're happy to let the odd mistake go without worrying. It somehow makes it more accessible than a flawless presentation - as if I might actually be able to do it too.

I have only just started to learn an instrument for the first time, I have chosen the banjolele, and this has given me some great practice. the fast picking part is my final boundary and then I shall be able to play my first full tune with your instruction... i had to write it down as he was playing it. I got most of it So far i have O = open string First part F = Fret (cords) C x3 Fx1 Cx1 Second part (string) C - O x3 C - 2F E - O, 1F, 3F, 1F, O Third part (string) E - 3F x3 A - O, 2F,3F, 5F, 3F, 2F Forth part (string) E - O, 1F, 3F, O, 1F C - 2F E - O C - O, 2F Fifth Part (string) C - O x2, 2F E - O C - O E- O C - 2F that's where i lost it just at the fast part, i got the cords but not the strumming pattern.

I already had the simple bit figured out by the time I saw this but towards the end of the tutorial life looked up😯😎👍❗️This was the first 'roll' I ever learned & got to play well. It does take practice to get the pattern in your mind & translated to your fingers.....stick with it. once you've got it mastered you won't un-learn it.... it's yours for life😎👏👏👏. Great explanation and tutorial Capt. Birdseed. ( ironically, the second 'roll' I learned was far simpler (Radio head - no surprises), but this one rocks when you can put some pace on it😜👍).

@lesleyannemcintosh hello , i put my fingers in the f posiston but just pick top string and bottem 2 strings same for the g and the c and then its just practice your speed picking

@MrMadpierre its my preference and in my opinion there is no right or wrong style to play the uke , the reason i do it with one finger is my finger is going up the strings anyway so i think this peice of music is about speed and i think for me its quicker .
