When's the first time you heard a Duesenberg guitar?
@klausfritsch43507 ай бұрын
When I was talked into trying one by my guitar dealer, Uli Kurtinat in Cologne, five or six years ago, maybe even seven. It did not take long for the guitar to chose me, it felt like.

@@klausfritsch4350 I have a Starplayer. I thought it was weird. Now I can't live without it. All I need now is a Les Paul Signature semi Hollow Body and I will be king of the solar system.

I was searching for a guitar with a Bigsby, something like a Gretsch Tennessean, maybe a Gibson 335. I often saw the Duesenbergs, but didn't try one. Then one day I played a Duesenberg CC (the same as a Starplayer TV, but with a 16" body) and I knew, that was the guitar I was looking for and bought it.

Glad to hear you found what you were looking for. It's been eye opening to see how these guitars play and feel.

@@ildefonsoinc It is like a perfect Tele, after a few years now, it still surprise me with all this guitar can do for the player.
@ikigai477 ай бұрын
@@karlwanninger7675 I've heard some weird descriptions but perfect Tele is a first. Another is a Gretsch that plays like a strat. It may be a little Gretschy, but I don't get the Fender comparisons, and I'm a strat guy to the bone. Had it a few days now (phonic model) and there are things that I love but overall I"m disappointed for what I thought it'd be
@karlwanninger76757 ай бұрын
@@ikigai47It is not the fault of the "Phonic" that you are "disappointed", the guitar does not know what you expected. Btw.: I'm a "Tele guy" as well, that's why I compare it to a Tele. Both guitars have the same scale lenghts, two knobs, three way switch (CC), two different pickups and both guitars are surprising the player over the years with their versatility.
@ikigai477 ай бұрын
@@karlwanninger7675 - Really Karl? Yeah, I was blaming the guitar for not realizing what my expectations were, or meeting them. Thank you for setting me straight. Who knows, I may have given my guitar a tongue lashing, or worse, I may have beaten my guitar and sent it to its room without dinner. You prevented that Karl.

Yes Duesenberg is partially made in Germany. It starts off in Croatia and final assembly is in Germany. Rickenbacker's founder was Swiss born that moved to America and then developed the guitar

Most of the wood work and painting are made at their own factory in Croatia, all the rest is done in Germany :-)

I wonder how the guys in the 60s would have judged this? You’re literally comparing tones to the Fender Strat and Tele and Gibson Les Paul all in 1 guitar. It’s wonderful. Just like the other ones I mentioned.

One has to be careful to claim that a pickup is "extremely hot", when you look at what "extremely hot" means today..

What about the amp and set up for that guitar ?
@hanzives45525 ай бұрын
@jamesholland5166 over the time I've had the guitar I've used lots of different things, I have a couple Divided by 13 amps with pedals in the front and the guitar works great with that set up. When we recorded this video I was using my current main set up which is a Fractal FM9 Turbo with a dual amp set up, Morgan AC-20 model and a Mesa Boogie Lonestar model. There's a comperessor, boost and trem in front of the amps and then stereo delay into stereo verb(s) which is pretty much all I used for this. Fun set up
