Yeah Ivy is varying between seductive vamp and a nerd who is harley's only voice of reason. In theory both types are in character, but they got the nuances completely different every time. I think the latest Harley Quinn's Ivy is the psychologically most mature, accurate and believable one.

Oh one thing I'd like to add: Since back then lots of female characters were designed in the image of the sexual fantasies of the mostly male audience, Ivy was designed more after some kind of female sexual archetype, less like a real life person. Since the archetypical female roles were already given to catwoman and ivy, and since there had to be a really good explanation, why someone falls in love with the Joker, they had to make Harley's character more complex by design in the first place. Until the age of female emancipation, she lasted with the longest history of a three dimensional female character and now since culture and society changed, it was finally Harley's time to come.

Honestly seeing harvey as a therapist who majored in psychology I wish she could use things she has learned in her field to pull mind games on other people, that would make her character infinitely cooler but instead she just mimics similar tactics to what joker does but .. less. It would be so cool to see her manipulate people etc, her character has a perfect backstory to make a really successful and awesome villain (not that she isn't already)

That's one of the main reasons I hate that show. There are no villains, everyone's a hero, James Gordon knows his daughter is Batgirl when the only time he's ever known that he flipped his shit and started hunting down Batman for endangering his daughter's life. DC's Super Hero Girl's is the worst. On top of all that the whole point of the show is to focus on strong female heroes but they take away everything from those characters that makes them such inspiring heroes in the first place. Batgirl doesn't wait around for her father's approval of anyone else for that matter she does what she thinks is right regardless of whatever anyone else wants her to do. DC super hero Girl's she's just living in the shadow of her dad and batman and doesn't really do much of anything besides go to school like a regular kid but in full Batgirl costume for no good reason. It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I don't believe anyone working on that series knows anything about these characters or women for that matter. It's basically just a knock off of Bratz/Monster High... but with Super Heroes.

Arleen Sorkin, the voice of Harley Quinn, said in an interview that the episode Harley & Ivy from Batman: The Animated Series is her favorite episode. Anyway, when it came to the Batman & Harley Quinn animated movie, I was kind of hoping that Harley and Ivy would have had a 'special' relationship in the movie. One in which they would have kissed at the ending of their fight. Just to push the boundaries of animation.

I know especially her Harley Quinn voice is very annoying to hear and she sounds nothing like Arleen Sorkin. I guess she needs to be replaced by another, more accurate sounding voice actress that matches Arleen, especially with the new BTAS revival that coming out in the near future if they pick Tara I’m going to flip out, but her poison ivy voice sounds decent. However I would recommend Tasia Valenza to voice Poison Ivy in the new series.
