My automatic interpretation of "I'm scared of being okay cause all things change" was "I'm scared of knowing happiness and having it ripped away because it can't last". For me, having that taken away is scarier and more devastating than keeping the status quo.

As someone with a severe chronic pain disorder, connective tissue autoimmune disorder, arthritis, depression, cptsd, panic, agoraphobia.... I'm not gonna list everything, that should be enough lol, I know all about the dead feeling from pills and just wanting to stop. I know well the feeling of crawling into bed and praying that you wake up someone else or don't wake up at all. It hurts so much all the time that the thought of living thru it again is exhausting and heartbreaking. I'm on sertraline (zoloft) as we speak (along with pain meds, anti-anxiety meds, muscle relaxer, anti-inflammatory, and nerve pain meds) and that "sip of serotonin" is what makes the lovely deadening effect on the brain. So my chalk outline, so accurate. If only it killed the pain center as well. This song hits my heart and soul like a wrecking ball. I hate the way I feel every day, but if I were to have a day without it all.... I'd be terrified. Being ok just means that when it crashes back down again it hurts even more. And still, I pray for a break. Just a day or an hour. I'm on the gallows gasping on my tippy toes as the noose tightens. It's hard to smile....I don't go out much (agoraphobia is a b**ch), but when I do, I smile at ppl. I tell them I'm fine and how are they?! I listen to them when they cry about their problems and let them vent. Then I go home and wish I were them. Great reaction, I love Ren's mind for helping me to feel I'm not alone. Watching the reactions and reading the comments also give me that less isolated feeling. Thank you. ❤

If you haven't heard, "How To Be Me," (LIVE) ... prepare. Tissues aren't a bad idea. This song was a tribute to Ren's friend, Joe Hughes, who chose to end his time on Earth. Listen to the lyrics with that in mind ... you can interpret them from Joe's POV or Ren's, but the last few lines are definitely Ren's. If you want more of Ren and Chinchilla's voices blended in an absolutely mesmerizing way, give that a listen. But prepare for a heartbreaker.

Hi there! My native language is Spanish, so maybe that is why I think there is a double meaning on the line "It's such a perfect day, take it just in case". It hit me first as "take this beautiful day because there are not many of them, just in case you need some good memories to hold on" and then I understood the meaning of "take the pill just in case so you don't ruin this beautiful day" by listening to reactor. I think its duplicity is powerful!

The lyrics hit hard in this one, don’t they? “I’m scared of being okay, cause all things change” is so simple but so so powerful. Please check out Crutch feat. Bibi. An older song from before he finally got the right diagnosis and written after multiple emergency trips to the hospital and a subsequent breakdown. It is a heart wrenching but stunning piece of raw emotion. One of my two favourite songs by Ren.

Ren was misdiagnosed a decade ago by doctors. He had Lime Disease, but they thought his mind was playing tricks and gave him strong drugs psychotropics and told him he was crazy. The Lyme disease ran amuck for 7-8 years. He is currently in Canada receiving treatment to undo all the damage done. His life was dramatically shortened by the misdiagnosis, but he is doing his best to stay in shape and recover all the stolen years past & future. Basically, it's LIKE having a broken leg and the Dr telling you it's all in your head and prescribing a bunch of super strong psychotropics for 7-8 years. I saw an interview the NHS would make fun of him for asking for more tests on his blood. They are the pig in his videos.

My thoughts, since "Hi Ren" on the flickering lights... It started as the "dark" only, then it continued during/after the uplifting part of hope (the dark is always looming in the background), its the everlasting dance, the struggle. So the flickering light is the always present darkness in the background, and two for both of their separate own struggles..

I have lyme and it is hell to live with because it is never ending like Ren has. I too have been misdiagnosed and am now bedridden due to a lyme coinfection. It’s like your constantly dying inch by inch. I lost myself a long time ago. Endless suffering with this disease. I’ve had it 30 years and fought back from death 3 or more times Pure hell

I loved this reaction so SO so much! The realities of mental health awareness and Depression you describe with such accurate depiction is phenomenal. And there is so much truth in the realities of what we want to believe (I want to be "normal", I want to be "okay", I want to be "cured") and the understanding that these things are logical fallacies that we've made up in society. I guarantee you ANYONE with issues of Depression, anxiety, and toxic fear about mental health, if they should hear this reaction, will have a very good chance at some revelation because of the information you're providing.
