We spend some of the last two weekends of July catching the UK railtours and charters that visited the York area:
Statesman Rail 'Snowdonia Statesman' with double headed class 47s on its way to Blaenau Ffestiniog;
West Coast Railways operated Northern Belle 'Historic Llandudno & Penderyn Distillery' with ‘top-n-tail’ class 57 body-snatchers reversing at York on their way to Llandudno Junction;
Locomotive Services Group Midland Pullman HST operated 'Beamish & Durham Pullman’ to Durham; and finally
Locomotive Services Ltd. operated Inter-City ‘Diamond Jubilee Express’ with Peak 45118 'The Royal Artilleryman' with ‘top-n-tail’ class 47 D1924 for an afternoon in York; bombed by a TPE Nova1 EMU on the return leg.
Also featuring the following traction:
West Coast Railways class 37 37706 on a light engine move;
DB Cargo operated Windhoff MPV being chased by a TPE Nova1 EMU;
GBRf class 60 60056 (in Colas Rail Freight livery), twice;
Colas Rail operated Network Rail PLPR (plain line pattern recognition) test train with a pair of class 43 HST power cars;
plus one or two of the regular Hitachi (bi-mode & AC only) EMUs.
All filmed on the East Coast Main Line (ECML) south of York with an Android phone. Thank you for watching and hope you enjoyed this video as much as I have chasing and filming it. (c) BrumberHill 2024.
