This girl has some serious pipes since childhood even being kicked out of a children's choir at age 4 because her voice was too powerful. It's very sad why she disappeared for a while but she is back in public again and I really hope to hear some more from Duffy. Check out another song from Duffy Syrup and Honey, it's amazing .

After Amy Winehouse passed she and Adele and a few others were called in the press as the "New Amys" sadly Duffy also suffered a major tragedy and left the industry. She has a fantastic voice and her CD is one I play often.

@@padmelotus After some time off, she put a new album out, and saw a controlled performance on AXS tv, in a house with just her band (year ago?). I don't think shes yet been touring, but I don't know. The AXS set was good, she came off as before, maybe a little more subdued, less energetic.

I know what you mean man ,I really liked Duffy and I was wondering what happened to her and why she just be disappeared from the spotlight,and then a couple of months ago I found out, I saw a program abouther on TV a couple of months ago, talking about what happened to Duffy u know why isn't she still famous or at least releasing music and it's actually quite a horrible story, It told about how when she was at the height of her fame ,she actually got drug raped and held against her will (basically kidnapped) for weeks and ever since then she has been so traumatized out of the spotlight, cos she has been going through therapy and all sorts of other things to try and come to terms with the stuff that she went through 🤔🤯, and now years after it happened, she is finally sort of ready to have a go at putting out more music. Such a shame that someone could be able to come along out of nowhere and cause an event that not only ruined the massive promise of hers AT THE HEIGHT OF HER SUCCESS ,and lets make no mistakes about this, at the time when this song was out she was just as big as anyone else in the world (including people like Adele and just look at the success that she has had since), but also the man who did that to her has got away with hiding it from the public, and also just basically ruined at least ten years of what was a hugely promising career, not to mention traumatising her for the rest of her life. I'm really looking forward to hearing her future work and I just hope she can pick up the momentum that her career had before someone else came in and ruined the moment for her , Best of luck to her, and best of luck to you with your channel bro , keep going forward stay strong, healthy and true 💯🙏✌️😎

I just don't think that she liked the publicity, but then she was traumatised by a vicious attack, and then was it for her career. She needed to focus on her recovery. It so sad and infuriating that one person can do that to another person.

Love that you did Duffy! As other folks have said, she's from Wales, and the Welsh LOVE to sing (there's a big tradition of choral singing in Wales). Duffy is definitely a talented lady, and not a hint of Autotune or anything else.
