Congrats on still being on the farm for 2 years. Many who try to get into farming without family help fail in there 2nd or 3rd year due to debit. You seem to have the right way of thinking to keep your debit under control and good friends to help you. Way back when I was working for a farmer, we worked with 6 or 7 other farmers. It was unusual for me spending weeks never see the farm I worked for. We had a mower, rake and baler. When hay was ready we were super busy. God I miss those days

Congrats on the 70K next mark 100K. Keep doing what your doing great video. Man i knew ag equipment was up there in price but 200k for a used tractor is just mind blowing. But im guessing that new stuff never “breaks down” lol and i bet if it does it so very cheap to fix lol. You know you mention people out there just dont grasp the concept that bartering still is alive and well. I watch a few other KZbinrs that barter for use of backhoe, excavator and a dump truck. If you have good friends and have something to offer in return then bartering works really great.

Hey Chris, one thing I have thought watching your harvesting exploits is radios. Back in Connecticut before cellphones we had two way radios with a repeater because of the hills. We still use radios in Utah for the dairy. For cropping we have several farms that work together, this year to put in 4500 acres of corn silage. We all have radios and our own channels. But we also have a harvest channel and each other’s channels so as we come and go and work together we can communicate. A radio is $200-300 a truck. It is an awesome way to communicate for positioning of trucks, people and equipment. Much less cumbersome than a phone and faster in that situation. The chopper can tell a truck where he is or the silo packer can point the truck where to unload. Even going to a new field, you can talk to everyone instantly. Even here where it’s mostly flat we still use a repeater but in your hills you most certainly would need one. The good part is it isn’t a very big capital expense for any one person. You could own one or two and even move from truck to truck. As I watch you narrating a video sometimes you are left wondering what is next? A radio would solve all that. I think on our operation alone we have more than 50 radios between mobile and hand held. I bet you guys have already thought about that. Thanks for taking us along sir.

Chris, in Ireland there is a product called Udder Mint/Udder Cream that we've used on cows udders suffering with mastitis. It has become popular in the last few years as a exterior application for people suffering from minor muscular sporting injuries. I presume there is something similar in the US. I've used it myself over the years for sprains and the heat of it aids healing and a good nights sleep.

I can see why you'd like the 9430, great machine but why wouldn't they put a 3-point hitch on all tractors. Your 7520 meets your needs just fine and is a good machine. What would you do with the 9430 on your farm that you can't do with the 7520? Best bedding for cows - straw, my opinion but used for a long, long time.

Rick, most of the big equipment is all drawbar at least in the US. I know in Europe they use more 3 point implements for possibly better ability to fit places.
