Duke Children's seeing results from Duchenne muscular dystrophy trial

Creed was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy when he was a baby, but the hospital that diagnosed him could not offer any help. Luckily, Creed's family found Duke Children's, which in 2015 was named a Certified Duchenne Care Center, one of only nine in the nation, by Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. Thanks to Duke's world-class Duchenne care center, Creed has access to a clinical trial that may provide a life-saving breakthrough for this devastating disease.

What is the current update on this now 4 years later? I don't expect an answer as no one else got an answer when it was fresh. Kind of diminishes anything the presenters are trying to convey.

They always make it sound like girls can't get it which is actually false and could lead parents to delay seeking a diagnosis because they don't realize that girls can also have it, although it is extremely rare.

There are many other diseases with very similar symptoms that do affect girls though, so there would be absolutely no reason for it to make any difference in going to the doctor and getting evaluated. However the gene therapy is just for Duchenne.
