The SRN-1 was invented in the same town i was born and breed in. Its always fasinated me ever since my granddad bought me an Airfix model of it in the 1970s. He also worked for Saunders Roe although i cant remember if he said he worked on SRN-1 project as there were so many projects going on at the time.

How did it move forward, with no vertical fans? SRN1, the Mini, and I were all born in 1959.

Vectored thrust, using the 4 outlets on the square ducts on each side. The round section of each duct had a rotating control valve to apportion the airflow front or rear.
