I remember back in 1995 the night after Summerslam, I went to a Raw taping in Canton, OH and got Duke's autograph at the Wendy's next to the Civic Center. A lot of the wrestlers would go in there and get food before the show. Saw Mabel in there once eating 3 burgers lol. Fun times!

I remember meeting him at a wrestling event because I was working for the man over it all and I was told to help him with his stand so I was just sitting there talking and laughing with this man and I didn’t even know who he was until the lines for autographs lined up and I felt so clueless. I just finished reading Diana Hart's controversial book Under The Mat Inside Wrestling's Greatest Family, and it says in the book Droese figured out how to make GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) in the book before it became commonplace on the Internet. I might give a comprehensive review of the book on Amazon, like I did for Stu Hart's book with Marsha Erb Lord of the Ring.

Bret famously refused to job at least once, maybe more I’m not sure on that - maybe he wasn’t manipulative but didn’t realise Duke didn’t have the same power as he did. Could be wrong though, just a thought. I’ve always thought Bret, while grumpy and bitter most of the time was at least a reasonable guy when it came to morals and stuff
