This was beautiful from Jay. Such a good man taught be good men. We need more of that in our society. Thanks to him and K for being beacons of light in our lives.

Terrific Speech!!! Jay is such a tremendous role model for these student athletes. If these young men buy into what he shared with them, they will be winners in LIFE; That's truly what is the most important piece. Go DUKE!!

Carolina fan here, enjoying the wisdom of this speech, hoping that the Tar Heels get the same kind of influence and motivation. Great stuff, Bilas. Keep it in check come game day.

I’m glad I’m listening to Bilas. I often get upset with him calling Duke games. My cousin loves Duke basketball more than anything and I mean anything. I like and respect Bilas but my cousin he gives him a hard time because he does his job very well without showing prejudice. Fantastic speech and these young men are very fortunate to have this opportunity. Go Duke and thank you for allowing your fan base to participate in getting to know why Duke is so LOVED. ❤

Great speech. I wish he’d mentioned their NIL it’s great an all but don’t let it take away your focus an dedication to the team and program and each other. They’re young and some of them are getting big money. I think it was worth mentioning to bring them into focus even better.

Jay Bilas, Coach K, Grant Hill, Billy King, Danny Ferry, Johnny Dawkins, Bobby Hurley, Christian Laettner, Shane Battier, JJ Redick, Carlos Boozer, Jason Tatum, Kyrie Irving, the Jones brothers, the Plumlee brothers, the Brotherhood......It's special, man. I could list another 30 former players and coaches. I have been fortunate enough to walk the campus, meet a couple of players, go to a few games......I'm from Kansas and it's pretty cool, too. But It Ain't Duke. Period....end of sentence.

I’ve been saying this as a Duke fan since 1999. To pass on the Duke experience after one year to chase money is the incorrect decision in my opinion. The network that is Duke and Duke alumni is worth so much more. Plus the fact the fans forget your name after one year. After 4 years, your name is burned into the hearts and minds of all Duke fans forever. Abandoning your team is a selfish but personal decision. To stay for your team is an unselfish one. I know many people will disagree and that’s okay. Everyone is entitled to be wrong, including me.

@@seanthomes5275 Finance but honestly bloviating is the perfect description. I’m a huge Duke fan, but I can’t stand Jay on the Broadcast. Plus, he’s so caught up in his self righteous cause to defend student athletes, he believed suspending Brandon Miller was wrong.
