great review Duke... thoroughly enjoyed it...the bike is well integrated with the luggage.. i like the Enduro as compared to the KTM SA where the luggage really stick out on the exhaust side..... off road it performs just as good.. the only thing still not sure is about the durability of the DVT engine...
@DukeOfDC8 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! Yeah, the bike felt right at home with luggage on, and looked pretty damn good too. I'll be curious to see what the DVT durability is as well, because it's one hell of an impressive powerhouse.

It's amazing how deceivingly quick the new bikes are. I've seen people say these are "slow" and I think they just had no idea how fast they were moving because the drama is so low.
@DukeOfDC8 жыл бұрын
It is insanely powerful, and I bet it could pull away on damn near any big supersport bike up until 60 mph. The torque here is playing in your favor in a huge way!

Great video! Ducati really hit a home-run with this bike. Does this bike have an adjustable seat? I am about your height and this would be a dream bike.
@DukeOfDC8 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that this has an adjustable seat, although I'm sure that they will come out with some sort of "short" seat option. Also, when the suspension is in soft mode, it really does compress down the seat height a bit. If you're about my height, then I think you'd be surprised how well you fit on it.

When I saw the S1000 RR and 1299 S, I realized I just missed meeting the Duke in person! It was setup for me that day to test ride back to back for comparison 😅.
@DukeOfDC8 жыл бұрын
+Red.Ducati Yooo, we must have just missed each other! That being said, how was the comparison?! I've looked seriously at both and have taken both out as well, just not back to back. I personally loved the S1000RR a bit more.
@455ur38 жыл бұрын
DukeOfDC These are the two bikes I'm narrowing down for the next purchase. Being an 899 owner, I thought I would like the 1299 S more, but I love the S1000 RR. Just wish BMW stolen a designer from Ducati and made the future models better looking! Then it would be perfect.
@DukeOfDC8 жыл бұрын
+Red.Ducati Well said. The S1000RR is so much more precise, but lacks soul. The Ducati has SOO much soul, and is down right gorgeous, as they all tend to be. I do like the S1000RR in the blue, white color scheme.

cornering head lights first came on the BMW K1600GTL i think 2 or 3 years ago. However the Vehicle Hold Control is something i never saw on a bike but on a bus made by Volvo and now becoming popular in other bus brands too. I think Ducati is really trying to bypass BMW's GS in confort. However my main issue with Italian brands is still their engines. Even these days i see people in different reviews having so much trouble with them and sometimes even change their engines completely and still having issues. My conclusion is : design wise Ducati is the winner and quality wise the BMW. What if these too made a bike together ;) Thanks for the review :)
@DukeOfDC8 жыл бұрын
BMW always has to be first, those selfish bastards ;) The GS is the class leader, and creator, but the Duc has a TON of potential, and certainly performs in a sportier fashion. I personally would go with the GS, as I said in the GSA review vid.
@berniebgf8 жыл бұрын
What do you like about the GS over the Duc? at this stage the stand out for me on the GS is the integrated Navigation, but the power of the Duc is tempting....

Hi there! just found your video and I'll be interested on getting a like like this on 2017. best of all has been seen someone more or less as tall as I am on such a big bike. I think I'll ask for low seat. Have you tried ktm 1190?
@DukeOfDC8 жыл бұрын
Hi! I hope you do get this bike! I'm not sure how low the seat was, but can tell you that the bike was stock, so no additional low seat, but perhaps a lower seat position that comes standard on the bike. Haven't ridden the 1190, and unfortunately won't for a bit because of dealers.
@MoreFoodForTheEars8 жыл бұрын
+DukeOfDC thanks for your kind answer. As I told I'm 173cm tall and my actual bike is a triumph street triple R and never used that kind of bike, thats why I'm a bit afraid of height. I'm planing to buy a bike by the ends of 2016 and I want an all use bike (50km daily for work and also summer travel with gf maybe on some mountain roads). Thanks again!

MoreFoodForTheEars --> My 2015 MTS S has an adjustable seat for height, and you can also adjust the spring pre-load which in effect, will raise/lower the ride height... Not sure if the Enduro has these features but it's worth looking into... ✔

I enjoy DukeOfDC's videos and feel that he should have way more subscribers. He needs a gimmick, something to pull in the viewers. Perhaps he could try and be an American Baron von Grumble? Not everyone can be loud, opinionated and potty-mouthed though. Perhaps he could do in Washington DC what Royal Jordanian does in London, that is go around all the landmarks in while lane-splitting constantly?

Yes. In many ways this is not an appropriate 'first' bike. Start with something lower, less powerful, less expensive, and preferably used. That way, when you grow out of your first bike, it will be easier to sell without loss and you will have appropriately learned the basics.
