Luis Villarreal asked his daughters to make Dull Knives longer as he felt that the song was too short. The Warning tried everything - guitar solos, drum solos, etc. But nothing fitted in. So they left it as it is. Pau said "if you think its short then listen to it again". In its brevity lies this song's eternity. Dull Knives (Cut better) - the title piques interest immediately. Why should a blunt knife be preferred over a sharp one? The first verse provides some clues. "The rush that's in my veins, I can't control it Tell me why This voice that's in my head is getting stronger Tell me how The aching in my bones is taking over Tell me why My blood ain't spilling red I'm freaking out!" So this is a song about committing suicide. Messier it is the better. Hence, the antagonist (in this case the darker side of the Queen) prefers blunt knives to inflict self harm. And then Pau took this song to the next level with the chorus "'Cause I found out dull knives cut better Choke on all my scarlet letters Don't know what I'm feeling anymore Needles piercing through my brain Slowly inflicting the pain I'm plucking roses but keeping the thorns!" In literature we have been warned many a times about thorns in a branch of roses. But seldom had any poet said that she preferred to keep the thorns as a prickly reminder of her misery & desperation. How dark is that poetry!!! How dark is Pau's mindspace!!

The Warning. More than just a mediocre band. Their sound is beautiful. Too beautiful for a person with mediocre ears/hearing or listening skills. I have to say skills because i had no idea people had below average listening ability.

Might be mediocre, but it’s still a decent song. They wrote this when they were quite literally children so I wouldn’t expect much, this is pretty good for what it’s worth
