It was a personal song for herself. For this special show, in front of the largest headlining audience they ever had, in their home country she made an exception.

this Pepsi Center performance was the 3rd of the three 10th Anniversary concerts... they played the same performance in Guadalajara (Oct 21, 2023, Teatro Diana - 2500+), Monterrey (Oct 25, 2023, Pabellon M - 4500+), and Mexico City (Oct 28, 2023, Pepsi Center - 8000+)... all three performances had the same set list (with a notable difference or two), same costumes, same stage design and light show (or as close as possible for the venue)... they premiered *S!ck* and *Hell You Call A Dream* in Guadalajara and they had the 10-piece string sections with them at all three... the lighting was done by the same guy that does Halestorm's lighting... he had some free time that matched DPA/TW's schedule so they made things happen... somewhere is a BTS showing them working on the lighting programming and controls at the office before doing it all actually setup... very cool stuff... i saw all three performances via live fan cam streams and they were ... i mean, "WOW!" doesn't even begin to describe it... i remember the surprise when the string section appeared out of nowhere for *Black Holes* and *Enter Sandman* ... and the double surprise with *S!ck* and *HYCAD* was indescribable... Pau playing *Breathe* right after *Black Holes* here in Mexico City was a monstrous surprise to everyone watching... there were a lot more than 8000 pairs of eyes overflowing from that portion of the set... i fully enjoyed seeing them and only miss not actually being there... En su momento dijo que no la iba a interpretar en vivo porque era una canción muy personal y muy sentida para ella. Cuando The Warning presentó su álbum "Error" en el Teatro Metropolitan de Ciudad de México en el 2022, se escuchó la pista de la canción "Breathe" en el interludio del concierto y cambio de ropa de las hermanas. Creo que Paulina encontró la oportunidad ante 8 mil personas de exorcizar la canción y de alguna manera sacar la pesada carga emocional que llevaba dentro de sí. Saludos desde la Patagonia Argentina. I've heard the back story to this is: When she wrote this she had just lost a life long friend. I don't think it was so much about losing her friend as it was about the dark place she was in because of it. That's why she said she wouldn't do it live. As far as I know she hasn't done it live since.

And this loss of a friend story is completely false. Please stop spreading this rumor. Pau has already stated its about having a panic attack and struggling with the feelings of loneliness and despair that was accompanying it. This friend who died, friend who committed suicide, friend who drowned, etc, etc, falsehoods need to stop. This detracts what this song is really about and is disrespectful to Pau and her struggles that led to such amazing art.

@@timpadgett7840 Actually Pau said in an interview (Spanish) that she was diagnosed with ADHD, she has to take medicine for life and she visits her sicologist often because that. I have no idea how bad ADHD is, but I guess she has gone through some dark places. Perhaps this song is about that.
