This video helped a lot, I just replaced one for a customer. On the tensioner you can use a 17mm socket which I found easier to maneuver that that 45 star bit on the tensioner, almost stripped it 😬lol
@Jason_T0203 Жыл бұрын
The T45 was easier for me to get to you have to have the perfect 17mm and socket to get in that tight space.

A few extra pointers: 1. Pay a professional to remove the refrigerant. This guy's method is illegal and still releases the refrigerant into the atmosphere. 2. Do NOT use the star-hex key to loosen the pulley holding the serpentine belt. There is a bolt ABOVE that pulley that you will turn to move that pulley and loosen the serpentine belt. 3. NEVER assume there is proper compressor oil in the compressor. Drain the oil from the compressor and refill. This particular Nissan generation take 4.19 oz of compressor oil.
@jmanbig46995 күн бұрын
The exact amount of pag 46 oil is actually 4 oz . But I do agree with using the 17mm instead of 45 hex. Nice advice tho. Thx 👍. And Also you should replace serpentine belt if it's 50k miles or over.
@dirtbaggarage4 жыл бұрын
Theres a 17mm bolt on top of the tensioner pulley, recommend using that instead of t45 bolt. Too much pressure on t45 bolt can cause it to strip and break pulley.

@troyc48412 жыл бұрын
Not supposed to. If you are licensed by law it has to be recovered. But what are you to do if your system has already yeeted all it's refrigerant into the stratosphere? Mine did so I didn't feel bad doing my own repairs. This is why shops charge so much for the service. They have to cover their licenses and overhead. I get it. I also think owners reserve the right to repair. In Australia you cannot buy refrigerant without a license. I have heard of LPG being used. There was also a product called "HYCHILL" you could buy without a license. But this is America so no need to worry about any of that.
