Fun fact: PJ training is literally called "superman school" in the military.

The devil once challenged a PJ to a fiddle contest for a grunts soul. The devil was found later in a ditch, with a broken fiddle stuck up his ass and the grunts soul missing.

usually with all special forces, you have to have been in the military for some time before being able to apply for special forces. A lot of times, it is through recommendation by a higher ranking member of your unit or by just selection process.

Some Special forces units allow you to take their training course right out of basic training so long as you met the requirements or you have it in your contract when you go to MEPS, PJ’s, Army Rangers, Navy seals are about some or the only ones I can think of but the majority of others you have to have been in the military for some time to try out for

Paratroopers are just highly trained highly mobile light infantry - unless they decide to drop vehicles. Their job is to seize key enemy held territory in advance of the ground push. Airfields are what they typically go after - kind of hard to put planes in the air when the paratroopers are holding the ground. The 82nd Division, 173rd Airborne, and 75th Ranger Regiment are the typical units chosen for airborne operations. PJs are completely different. PJs have two primary missions - to save the lives of friendlies and to rescue downed pilots. They will jump into enemy held areas to meet up with pilots to escort them out. They will also jump into a firefight when it's too hot to get a chopper in. To put it this way these people are one hairwidth away from being doctors - and often times they act like doctors because if they don't their patients will die. They will literally drill an IV into the bone of a person whose veins won't support an IV needle. They also can jump with plasma and whole blood. There is a series on their work in Afghanistan called inside combat rescue.

I was a semi highly trained infantry. During our combat medic course, I blew out my roommates vein during IV training, when he had asked me not to. 🤣

A buddy of mine used to get an IV bag after a bad hang over, command just wrote it up as training. @@johngillespie3409

depends on job or group. you can sign up to go ranger right off the bat. but spec ops or EOD or skilled specialties are rank and time in job based.

Had one at the local hospital there "just doing his stuff" was able to deadeye my arm one shot for a blood withdrawal. I cant begin to explain how awesome this was. According to my resident vampire, i have, vaines that are thicker than a whole new full layer of skin, floating, recessed, invisible to thermal, and they roll whenever spotted, this dude just... Zoop right in. First go, no prep, on arm tie, nothing, just right in.

Seriously, my local clinic uses me as a final boss monster cause of how ridiculous it is. I have come out of the phlebotomist with all my elbows, forearms, hands and a few fingers wrapped in bandages cause they couldn't hit anything.

Also, also, if you screw up once, my blood clots the needle almost instantly
