JG9, please consider doing a DD video on New Mexico's questionable decision to let the clock run out in the first half rather than trying to get at least a field goal. I was at the game last night. We all knew our Wildcats were going to win, but New Mexico was putting up a hell of a fight until about the 4th quarter.

I’m not commenting on the game itself, but in general, I’m wondering if the FBS versus FCS games are going to go away as major college football moves to a super league. Similar to the NFL. Regarding the game, it could very well be why the game was such a blowout in the second half. Because the players had to be frustrated at the stupidity of the coach. The coach had basically given up when the score was 6-0 with 27 seconds left to go in the first half .

Its sad that the only way ISU could make your channel was by making DD. And they werent the only ISU to get shut out by a B1G team; Purdue beat Indiana St 49-0. These gamrs illustrate the ruthless ecosystem of College Bawl. Sacrificial lambs trotted out for slaughter and a paycheck so that Power schools can have a glorified Spring game. Thats why Spack didnt try. To quote Travis Swift: "Know yo role and shut yo mouth"

I disagree with you here, the way Iowa was last year and the way they were in the first half it makes sense to play ultra conservative and avoid the turnover. Putting your QB in a hurry up situation like that increases the risk of a turnover. In nearly every game Iowa won last year it was because the defense scored off a turnover or gave the offense the ball in FG range or special teams made a big play. If the other team never turned the ball over and didn’t allow a bug special teams play last year Iowa almost certainly lost and likely got shut out. All you need to win is 1 or 2 good drives and to not let the defense beat you. Iowa isn't like any other team, but their defensive greatness combined with their laughable offense calls for an ultra conservative strategy. Maybe if your QB has a great anount of situational intelligence so he isn't going to force a pass trying to get the yardage you could go for it. But most QB's in this situation force passes and that is just the receipe to let Iowa's defense score the game winning points for them. Keep in mind that the first FG Iowa got in the first half wad due to a turnover in FG range.
@JaguarGator817 күн бұрын
But then why would ISU call a play with 24 seconds on the play clock if they’re just trying to run out the clock
@Valpo200417 күн бұрын
@@JaguarGator8Not sure why they ran, maybe they were worried Iowa would burn all their timeouts. Just saying ultra conservative makes sense given the opposition.

@@Valpo2004 iowa is known for their offensive struggle sessions Why not go for it You need points to win the game Iowa won its last fbs vs fcs game 7 to 3 That was the FINAL yes iowas offense is that special that those 7 points where NOT A TD of any kind Illinois St could have tried for a miracle or at least 3 points which would be catastrophic for iowa because they have an fcs level offense themselves but AN NFL level defense 1 mistake which even the greatest defenses ever in college or nfl DOES HAPPEN so why not try Appalachian st tried against Michigan when they were the fcs school going to the BIG HOUSE and it turned out great for Appalachian st they used that momentum to go division 1 themselves

@nautgamingnautgaming9949 I know the 7 wasn't due to a TD, I'm an Iowa fan so I saw the game. But Iowa won that game because of 2 safeties and I believe a turnover in their own territory handed the offense a field goal. If I am playing against Iowa I would rather punt 10 times than turn the ball over once.
