Great breakdown. Great analysis. I knew Josh McDaniels had a "Pete Carroll" moment in the Chiefs loss, when we threw the ball on 4th and 1 in the 4th Quarter, but your analysis highlights how McDaniel is making a habit of Pete Carroll fails, in each and every game. Like I said before, any decent Pop Warner coach could outcoach Josh McDaniels. Mark Davis is possibly the stupidest man on the planet for hiring this knucklehead, and sticking by him, while he single-handedly buries the Raiders into the ground. I just knew Bisaccia should have been our guy. Opportunity missed.
@allenlong36902 жыл бұрын
What's humorous (about your comment) is that the Pete Carrol led Seahawks were able to convert TWO 4th downs, on the same drive, in their game against the giants this past Sunday. (That drive would end in a touchdown.) I don't know if it was Pete approving Shane Waldron's (the OC's) decision or if it was a collaborative effort between them, but it was the first time if seen the Hawks convert multiple 4th downs in a single game in a long time. So, Josh McDaniels ended up making Pete look smart in comparison (yes, Pete is an experienced head coach, compared to McDaniels, but given Pete Carrol's tendency to be conservative or fail on 4th and 1 to 3, McDaniels made him look smart).

Ah; Glad somebody brought this up. Bellicheck is an egomaniac whose ego is tied to winning (whereas most coaches have Napoleon complexes & would rather sink the ship they're in than allow anyone to survive). Hence all the cheating he's done. With his players, he's a top-down don't tell anyone they don't need to know type who would never allow his coaches in on what he does because then they could take his job. So he produces nothing but yes men who try to imitate his style like a parrot imitates human speech: it gets individual words right, but it cannot understand how "Green, sleeveless dresses dream furiously" is a correct sentence in English despite it stating the impossible. Those *hundreds* of meetings Bill had with Tom Brady (likely poring over all the illegal footage taken of their opposition in practice)? Those are things he never had with his coaches.

Unbelievably boneheaded play calling by the “offensive genius” this year so far. I’ve been a die hard fan my whole life and it’s seriously been so painful to watch. I literally got up and left the room when we ran the jet sweep to Adams. Absolutely ridiculous.
@pumpbustersv12 жыл бұрын
On the 3rd and 1 play if Miller (74) doesn't basically trip trying to land his block then they get that first down. It's drawn up fine. Assuming run to the right based out the same look is your preferred call you'd have Maye (6) meeting him at/behind the line of scrimmage with bodies to help right next to him. They're loaded that side and have it covered. You aren't going to be running to the left with the motion side, all that's doing is putting their linebackers exactly where you don't want them. Basically a 1st down if your tackle lands his block vs your RB having to beat a safety crashing into that gap + the loaded side of the formation and get 1 yard. The jet sweep is drawn up fine and gets the defense. It's just execution not playcalling, which can also be a coaching issue don't get me wrong. Trick play after is pants on head moronic though.
@Fencellisk2 жыл бұрын
I think that the kind of block needed for that play vs how the rush is coming is exactly why Miller ended up on his butt. I do think that if Adams goes around instead of jumping over he has a chance to get the first down. If only we still had T-Billy. A guy with speed...

The thing modern coaches don't understand anymore is that... it's not about being "cute", but executing. I'm trying (and failing) to remember the last time I saw a fake punt work in the NFL. If you want to go for it on fourth down, keep your offense out there and run a play. It feels like the majority of your Dumb Decision videos this season has been about TE/Jet Sweeps on third down. Considering multiple teams are doing the exact same play in these important situations, you have to wonder if this trend extends back to last year. You should consider doing a deep dive on these types of plays rather than defaulting to "this was a dumb decision because they have a good running back."

McDaniels is not a HC, is an OC. Period.

I understand using Josh to run for a first down but wasn't he getting no yardage before that play? They were shutting him down

The Bucs coach didn’t retire, flip flop Brady pushed him out.

Only Davis would take a failed and inept head coach and install him as a head coach in LV. Jet sweep to Adams will go into every training camp on how not to call a play in the NFL. Absolute laughing stock. 😭 😭 😭 😭

Everyone is killing McDaniels but Bisaccia lost 5 games too. Lmao, I know it took 12 games, not counting playoffs. Why is Mark trying to replicate his father's ways when Al had seemed to have lost it? I thought after Denver McDaniels would be better but well um nope.
