Given the comparatively limited editing software that was available to DOOM modders at the time, these are actually pretty good for what they are. Yeah, they aged like cat puke, and are products of their time, but I'd be lying if I said this video didn't fill me with nostalgia. Back before I had internet at home, I used to spend a lot of time in school and at the public libraries, downloading wads like these all the time so I'd have some non-vanilla content to play at home. Needless to say, this video brought back a lot of memories.

Gosh, I remember seeing Halloween Doom v1.0 when I was much younger, except it had actual Halloween-related enemies such as jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, and witches. 🎃👻

The 2nd wad was supposed to have custom sprites, but the author messed up and forgot the place in the S_START and S_END markers where the changes didn't apply

I heared about a doom ACE for vanilla with some hacked savegames that allows to run what code you want, so probably in the future someone make some virus that runs on vanilla doom :)
