As an Italian I can say that, yes, here in Italy we are Italian and as Italians we are not Africans because we are Italians. We also speak Italian and have Italian customs, we eat Italian, we dress as Italians, we are basically entirely dominated by Italians.

In the the truth, the more "exotic" and uncommon they are: the many men and boys will court them! We are famous to be old fashioned gentlemen with women. What's funny about those black tourists is that at no point does it cross their mind that they too have to aknowledge that they are facing a different culture and that they may have to become more open minded, tolerant and don't take cultural misunderstandings to personnaly.

Strangely, for a racist country according to her, I saw plenty of black people working in hospitality, running businesses (gift shop, luggage drop) and even, gasp!, one was a cop!! I always try to memorise a few words when I go abroad. Please, thank you, more beer please, coffee with milk, a beer please, more beer please. I find if you make even a little effort, the locals are so pleased they forgave my butchering the pronunciation. And, yes, they talk with their hands, drive like their pubic hair is on fire yet never crash and were utterly delightful wherever we went. As for this bint, an italian phrase, vaffanculo!

I don't have a race card or a victim card. You might want to reevaluate the terms that you choose to use. The race card comment became popular when it was used in the OJ Simpson alleged murder case. When the defendants' lawyers brought up the use of illegal evidence including manufactured evidence in the Rampart Unit of the LA police department. Upon investigations Judges throughout 104 cases because the evidence had been tampered with in addition the LA Police department had to settle over 140 cases because false evidence was used against innocent black men and woman. These were innocent men and women who were arrested fined and some of them even went to jail. Their crime being black in LA. Or by the black card do you mean when Time and Newsweek both put O.J. on the cover but they darkened his skin? If one were to analyze they were trying to turn OJ into a modern Bigger Thomas. As to being a victim anyone of us in society can be victimized by others. You are not the moral police of the world so frankly who cares what you are over or not over it matters not.

@@edwardharley9 None of us were there or know exactly what happened to the young woman to make her so upset. As I have pointed out multiple times, she's young. It is pretty obvious she is upset, afraid and feels threatened by something perceived as racist. You say she is a narcissist. I hate when people throw around words that have become part of "pop culture psychology," like narcissism. You cannot look at a short video and diagnosis a mental disorder. I am sure you're not a mental health practitioner. Therefore, your point is not only incorrect, but it is also ridiculous uncalled for and just plain mean. Just because you choose to learn a few words in the language of the country you are visiting doesn't mean everyone or should. Has it ever occurred to you that some people do not have the ability to learn foreign languages? Another thing a lot of young people use the language apps on their phones to communicate. Some of them are pretty effective others not so much. Finally, I find it amazing how many commentators felt that there was no racism in Italy or that there was no racism in the world. So here is my take there is still racism in the world I have experienced it. But I try to remember there are still a lot of good people in the world who aren't racist.

As an Englishman who was born in London and moved out decades ago, I can assure the viewers that she has most probably never been outside of London and seen the rest of the country. I remember taking some pupils to a farm in Devon decades ago, where the owners told us about the pupils who visited them from London schools: they had never seen a cow before, thought soil was filth and found the idea of being away from a mobile phone a version of torture. We have raised generations of children who are as cut off from the world as most 15th-century European peasants.

They're emotional and that's about it. Just like their dumb indoctrinated teachers and professors are and want them to be. They're supported by a rich lobby organization called the teachers union, who don't care about the students, the parents, or the communities they utterly and mercilessly destroy. To be fair, many minorities grow up communities so broken, they live in "food deserts." Look that up some time. It's insane. The efforts to get these communities to be active in helping themselves is oftentimes a losing game. There's no longer The (Boy/Girl) Scouts, 4H, or even summer programs where they spend time in rural or woodland areas to experience places different than their own. And the old stories, nursery rhymes, and songs that explain where animals and foods come from are no longer taught because it's more important to discuss a small child's sexuality and "identity" than anything useful. It's sad

It took an hour - an entire hour - for me to see another white person and the looks I got from other people before then were not exactly kind. I dressed like a hobo to convince any potential mugger I wasn't worth the hassle. Had I pulled out a phone like this youngster and recorded a 'live stream', I'd have been robbed quicker than you can say 'oops'. The young woman in this video would be treated no different, although she'd stand a good chance of being raped as well. An insider POV: Italy is nearly "raided" by countless unregulated immigration coming from African countries (NGO's who save the shitty migrant boats in the Mediterranean sea are forced by EU law to bring them all to the closest harbour of the EU, which is unfortunately exclusively an Italian harbour). These mostly young men arrive with no education and obviously they're not being capable of speaking Italian. Therefore they initially dont have a perspective here (job, education, normal western living standards... which btw most immigrants think to get automatically when they arrive) here in Italy. This results in skyrocketing crime and beggary every 5 meters in italian cities. If italians dont find that "uplifting", you really cant blame them and neither would I.

I can´t think of many things as annoying as some people coming to your country and telling you that your people are so racist and how much everyone ,,needs to change". Not a single time i heard anything about actual violence, nothing about verbal abuse, nothing like being denied a job or appartment, not even some obscure shop denying them service. It´s always something like, ,,someone looked at me", ,,the government agency isn´t helping me fast enough", one even claimed racism for being stoped by the police for 2 minutes at a train station. Just last week i spoke with a woman who claimed racism since there is a centre right wing party in our national parliament, just before dropping a racial slur. A man from east Africa told me he was disappointed that Italians would be so unfriendly once they realise that you don´t speak their language. Well, he lived there for years and didn´t bother to learn any of it, just to tell me this story in broken english, since he doesn´t bothered to learn the language of the country he lives in now either. My willingness to tolerate this stuff is in free fall right now. If it´s so horrible here, than just leave. Nobody begged you to come. And if you are in Rome, do as the Romans do.
