Is it weird that if my parents expected me to go to something, they outright told me that I didn't have a choice? They were great about never giving the illusion of choice. If they said that I didn't have to come to something, they meant it and often expected me to say that I'd rather not come to things. That shouldn't be weird. Also, my parents knew I was an introvert on account of how I never left the house so they never even bothered to tell me that I was grounded because it would not have made a difference. Instead, they found more effective ways to punish me.
