2024 Competitive Flatground Skateboarding (CFS) Tournament is an 8-skater double elimination* bracket style tournament
First place prize is $1,000
2nd place prize is $250
3rd place prize is $100
Bracket seeding placement is based on multiple factors including past performance in games of skate, other flatground footage, and how each skater ranks against the rest of the field, which optimizes competitiveness later in the bracket.
*Double elimination means each skater needs to lose TWO separate games before you're ineligible from further bracket progression:
Everyone starts in the major (winners) bracket for their first game (quarter-finals).
Losing the first game puts you in a minor (losers) bracket round 1, where you compete against the corresponding major bracket quarter-finals loser.
The two minor bracket round 1 losers are eliminated from the tournament, while the winners progress to the minor bracket 2nd round, and face the corresponding major bracket 2nd round (semi-finals) losers.
The two minor bracket 2nd round winners advance to minor bracket round 3, and face each other.
The minor bracket 3rd round winner advances to the minor bracket final, and faces the major bracket 3rd round (finals) loser.
The minor bracket finals loser gets $100 for 3rd place, while the winner ascends to the major bracket grand finals match, known as a penultimate 'if game'.
14-game scenario: If the major bracket finals winner beats the minor bracket finals winner in the grand finals match, the tournament is over and the major bracket grand finals winner is crowned the overall champion.
15-game scenario: If the minor bracket finals winner beats the major bracket finals winner in the grand finals 'if game', a second (15th total) game between the same competitors takes place, and whoever wins is crowned the overall champion.
One benefit of double elimination versus the traditional single elimination is that skaters are guaranteed an opportunity to skate against more than one unique competitor, and each have at least 2 chances to win $1,000 instead of just one.

Alright I have to air this out because this video was a disaster. First off the vibes at this event were very awkward. Some people there wanted to dick around and have fun, some people were taking it extremely seriously. Not a great situation. I way over compensated trying to be funny, because I did not want to be involved in something that felt like it sucked. I care a lot about KZbin and I did this because I thought it had potential to be sort of random but it was uncomfortable in all the wrong ways. Seems like many people are not picking up on the fact I was trolling. At no point was I upset about anything that happened. I was not being very funny and that is completely my bad. I was unsuccessfully trying to make what felt like a dismal situation fun. I should have just let it be weird instead of trying to fill up the awkward silence with the sound of my voice. That being said I think a lot of people are taking me way too seriously, the flask was obviously a prop, the same as the banana peel in the Tom game. Thanks goodbye

I think the YSL series was also awkward as fuck, but that’s kind of the point. It is still funny, still random, and you guys shouldn’t really care about your reputation. GH You good man. I like Mogely too. And all the guys in this. That’s what makes it cool is that all these insecure youtube guys get to meet and it’s super unprofessional but very random so that’s what makes it great. It’s just a game of skate, just a video. I think the concept is cool but it doesn’t hold actual competitive value or nothing like that. It is what it is and we enjoy watching it just because we get to see u guys skate together. I think it’s cool that Dumb Data put this shit together. I enjoy it. Even if someone takes it seriously or if someone doesn’t. Even if it’s lame it’s still fun times for the viewers. We like it.

Gifted hater’s novel taking a dump on the event was super disappointing. Most of us really enjoy this event because of how awkward it is. I’m pretty sure that was the point or at least is the appeal of it now. Like of course pairing legit pros with KZbin skaters with Kelly Hart reffing is gonna be a disaster but it’s fun in the same way that YSL was.
