How my great grandfather escaped a German prison camp in WW2. Not dumb from his part, but the ones he'd been held captive by and it's kinda funny: My great grandfather was in the Belgian resistance in WW2, and eventually he got caught by the Germans and put into a prison camp. Because of his education my great grandfather could speak German and the commander in charge regularly went on walks around camp with him trying to convince him to give them intel and basically be a double agent. The commander tried to get him on their side by having friendly conversations with him. Each time their walk ended, the commander would shake his hand before leaving. The guards had taken notice of this, and since the prisoners there didn't wear uniforms, they didn't realise that my great grandfather was one of their prisoners because he spoke fluent German and because of how the commander acted towards him. My great grandfather realised this so one day after his walk with the commander, he went up to the guards at the front entrance, saluted them and walked right out without anyone stopping him. The guards just saluted back and let him go because they thought he was some kind of official. X'D

In prison at the end of the video there was actually two men who never got found until 2019 they said publicly online that they had escaped but were 70-80 years old and both had cancer so there is no point arresting us and they never got re captured
