@@SunnyvilleMusic Most Welcome! Again, very tasteful in several aspects. Hey, question for you: I am looking at buying the Beekeeper and the Lightkeeper, have you tried both? If so, what are your thoughts on them?

@@rckilmore Sure! So I haven't tried the Light keeper but I'm sure it's as fantastic as the Beekeeper. I tend to use my Beekeeper as an always-on on the overdrive channel with a high headroom amp. How do you plan to use them?
@rckilmore3 жыл бұрын
@@SunnyvilleMusic Into a Suhr PT-15 Clean Channel and also try into the OD Channel with drive set to really low gain. Also, I’ll try them into the effects loop of that amp. I am looking to use them for low gain OD on the border of medium gain with good headroom and dynamic range, so when I dig into the strings they can go from edge of breakup to OD tones but have clarity and not too much compression so that my tone can still stand out in a full band context.

@@rckilmore All of those uses sound perfect for either pedal! The pedal really is very dynamic, so you'll find the touch sensitivity that you're looking for. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it, once you get it :)

Have you tried running the beekeeper directly in with IRs in your interface? I was hoping I could get the beekeeper as an alternative to the strymon but it looks like I need both... yikes
@SunnyvilleMusic3 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried that but the one issue with that may be that you'll still be missing the power amp section of the amp. The Beekeeper will give you the preamp and the IRs give you the cab but yeah, no power amp. There are power amp simulation pedals though. EHX makes them I believe.

Andrew Cheng did a demo of the Lightkeeper pedal direct into laptop with York IR... I liked that tone better than this one to be honest... but it could just be other processing he did that I'm not aware of (e.g. EQ, Compression).

@@jb909jb I haven't seen that video but yeah, I have some York audio IRs as well. They're fantastic. I do tend to dial stuff in a little darker though, so that is probably playing a role in this demo.

If you use Wall or Sound from Two Notes there’s power amp modeling. You can choose a tube section as well. Might get you there. With some overdrives out front you might be able to replicate the clean and dirty sides of the iridium.
