I feel like Ian's acting has improved a bit these days, but good lord he didn't even try here. He doesn't bother doing a voice or even an accent. There's no character. It's just Ian playing bird Ian. Anthony wasn't much better but I noticed he at least tried to speak in a voice that isn't just his regular speaking voice. Idk though. He only got one line.

I do have to praise this movie for how faithful of an adaptation it is. From an adaptation standpoint it was essentially the animated mario movie before the animated mario movie. They recontextualize stuff from the games in a way that makes sense. The plot on paper is perfect.
