@@gavinjay because, apart from the 'Wi-fi' availability problem, they enforced a stupid ' personal identity protection' law on this EU country, whereby photographing anybody without their permission, is unlawful. It's a stupid law fit for a barrel of monkeys. Then again, I don't doubt the lawmakers differ much to a group of baboons, as well😊. In future, I shall ask a potential terrorist for their permission to record them before they commit an atrocity or dangerous act, to have as evidence for the legal authorities. Yes. It's 2023, and legal idiocies are predominant in some ' civilized' countries, especially on this one horse island I reside on😂

With some people, they cannot safely use cameras with wifi, so it's good to have cameras that do not require WiFi.

one advantage of wifi camera is that it is very cheap and easy to setup. non-wifi camera is very expensive and you need to pay someone to come in and wire the house.

He showed that you can listen in using the app, so I'd assume it can record audio and store it, given the fact that it can transmit it over a live feed. It saves the files as .avi file type which is capable of audio and video storage so I'd say it's almost a guarantee that it does since it has the hardware and software capabilities to do so. I will end by giving my 2 cents whether or not you want to listen to it, it's up to you; it is a slippery slope once you start invading someone's privacy with good intentions, (keeping your kids safe.) Oftentimes that leads to people justifying going beyond the limits of "acceptable" use of this capability. When you have the means to use this for situations that don't fall under the umbrella of your original intentions, you may start to convince yourself that it is ok to abuse this ability because in your mind you are still doing it for their benefit. Using something like this to spy on or catch your kids getting into "trouble" (normal kid shenanigans) is wrong and will lead to a loss of trust between you and your children.

usually problem people are having is when trying to connect to your home wifi. make sure home wifi is running 2.4Ghz.

almost all the wifi has option to choose between 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. you dont have to get new wifi.

There's a smoke detector above the bed in the room I sleep in but it has a green light that stays on all night. I put my camera towards it and I see a blinking red light inside, but I can't see the blinking red light at night or in the day unless I get close to it with my camera. Is this a secret camera? Please reply back asap. My gut is telling me it is.

Most of these security cameras do not actually work after you buy them. But they always work on reviews. (I have two useless cameras lying around. But sometimes you can get lucky. I bought a USB version from Ebay, and it works. It doesn't have WIFI, though. I bought the useless ones from Amazon)
