First snow in Southern Illinois! Im inside still recovering from pneumonia. Those dumps are pretty awesome. Do you ever have to wheelbarrow the firewood? Almost all my customers i have to take a wheelbarrow. I talk to my customers as i stack. Gettting to know them has helped gain more customers. They tella. Friend and their friends tell a friend. Really helps your business grow!
@InTheWoodyard2 жыл бұрын
Some times I do, if they want it stacked, I would rather dump and go to the next delivery, stacking takes a lot of time especially if you have to carry/wheelbarrow it. I charge extra for that! But yes, good service does pay off with good and new customers!
@craigwilson95602 жыл бұрын
Yeah, most of my customers have fences and it is around back. I would rather people stack their own as well especially if they are waiting until last minute.

I think I spotted some cottonwood in that first load also. - Good banjo.ing! - Remember when you go hyper, be careful. If you slip, and the firewood gets launched into orbit, just remem, you're right next to an airport. Stuff happens. - Third cord, face cord, whatever you want to call it, I vote for rick! - You cheated! Who does that? stacking at hyper, standing in the pickup bed!!? - I ran some heavy wires from truck battery to dump unit. No charging, no failures. I make sure to have the truck idling while dumping. - You got the nice tip probably because of the nice trim job on your beard. Has to be from a beauty shop! I can't do that, they won't even let me in the door! Poor me. Doomed!

Chris put a piece of wood under your battery. The ice cold steel sucks the juice out of the battery, the wood helps with that problem.

Chris - Have you tried one of those pickup bed-tarps that cranks the material out? Loadhandler makes them. It might work well for you to move the front third of the load to the back where you can easily reach it without having to two-step it. Heading to my "woodyard" this brisk morning (-5F) as well. All the best.

Dude I just watched a european guy do a wood dryness test, you should try it lol. You put a fat dollop of dishwashing liquid on one end of the firewood, and spread it around. Then blow through the other end. The more bubbles it makes, the drier it is. 20% and up wood won't make any bubbles at all, or be super-hard. I didn't think blowing through the wood was possible lmao

If you don't have reversing lights on the trailer, you may have a spare pin on the plug, which could be used to power the trailer hydraulics from the truck.
@InTheWoodyard2 жыл бұрын
Maybe so!
@JohnDiMartino2 жыл бұрын
I always wondered why you didn’t have the battery connected to the truck mine has been that way since new, I have never ever had to charge my dump trailer battery, it’s simply charges off the truck on a 40 amp circuit.If I was to dump back to back like five minutes apart I’m sure eventually I would have to stop but my round trips are always at least a half an hour or longer and by the time I get back my battery is topped off.I also install a group 31 heavy truck battery in place of the little 24 RV battery they come with, Just doing that more than double the running time , and the cost is about the same.You should have a black plastic seven pin rv connector,On the right side the upper pin is about at 1 o’clock that is the auxiliary hot that should be connected to the truck battery on your truck if your truck at a factory tow package if it doesn’t simply run a number 10 wire from the battery down the frame rail to that pin fuse it at the battery with a 40 amp circuit breaker.On your trailer connector connect to that pin and bring it to your trailer battery and you are done. You should be able to do the whole job in an hour or two.
