Hey Mike last thanksgiving I went by a doctors office and dove into one, full up with knee,hip,elbow,stainless steel rods and pin came out to be 800$ for 15 minutes of work.

Mike! 11:00 Check the keys on old pianos that are being tossed. If they are old enough to have the real ivory veneers on the keys, those are worth salvaging. The old keys are needed for restorations on other pianos that may be missing a few of them.

Seems like a lot of those items would make more by selling them at a Flea Market or Yard Sale, than taking them to scrap, but I know the FM and YS takes a lot of time and work to set up. I'd check what is in those envelopes in those old nightstands under the drawers, as they could have money hidden in them.

Old phone prank: Do you have Prince Albert in a can? The store: No but we have john in the dumpster. The white drawer items were from a bedroom vanity where, in the middle, a mirror, a connecting shelf type of thing and a bench. The yellow seats were stadium seats.

Those pianos have a resonator or sound board that are either made from brass or iron depending on the model. It's a giant metal plate that the strings are attached to. It's where most of the weight of the piano comes from. It has to be made of metal because of the constant tension the strings are under.

Thanks for taking in those 'nightstands'. You probably know by now, but they're the side pieces of an old vanity; there would've been a table/desk piece connecting them in the middle, and a big mirror above it. With the carved design on the drawers, they're likely 1920s-30s. A lot of people paint them rather than fixing veneer damage, but there are a lot of good videos on how to do the fixes right, these days.

the 2 "nightstands" are part of a dressing table, usually a small shelf would be between them with a large mirror in the middle, approx victorian era, the wood is usually mahogany or often walnut, at times waterfall walnut with burl maple trim. have fun and be gentle.
