it aint easy too get an old coroded alternater apart, never mind you got a fairly new one on the bench. i got fifty in the bin , mabey i will send em too u

LOL, I'd just sell them as motors. They don't like to give up their copper!

I've thrown them in the motor bin butI just did one and I had to cut one screw just like your got it apart but I haven't extracted the copper yet. I have another alternator to do but I can't undo the nut that holds the impeller on. Is it opposite thread perhaps? Either way I can't lock it up to turn the nut the whole shaft turns. I don't have a vice making it hard

I just sell as motors... To much dicking around.

I chuck it in the shredd pile and get my 4.5 cents per pound on it. And walk away with a tear in my eye...
