WHEN DUMPSTER DIVING ANYTHIING IS POSSIBLE AND YOU CAN FIND ALL SORTS OF ITEMS THROWN AWAY. SOMETIMES THEY ARE LITTLE SCORES AND SOMETIMES THEY ARE BIG. SOMETIMES THE ITEMS ARE BRAND NEW AND SOMETIMES THEY ARE USED. ITS ALL JUST LUCK AT THE END OF THE DAY.

I had my second ever attempt at dumpster diving Monday, my first effort was hopeless, but this time I filled the boot of my car, I even had the police ask me what I was doing and let me carry on. Most of my haul came from a B&M bargain store that was closed for refurbishment, there was loads of goods on pallets open to the weather with pieces of paper on top saying "for disposal". I had 5 cases of Pepsi, just had 1 or 2 can in each damaged and leaked on, a couple of clothes airers, a huge 15kg bag of dog food. My best item was a returned airfryer, totally unused, I had to fix a wire in the plug and it was fully working not bad for an hour of time and half a gallon of fuel.

Those companies ought to pay you to go through their waste. They are breaking environmental laws on waste recycling, electronics must be weee recycled and put into special bins here in the UK.

Love your content, absolutely appalled by the amount of waste especially the food waste. Forty years ago we were called Skip Rats and did exactly what you are doing now.We found if we asked skip owners if we could remove what they were throwing away, generally they were pleased that we asked, but it gave them more room in their paid for skip, after all they were only throwing contents away. There were times that i admit we were on dodgy ground but have eaten many a meal scavenged from stores bins. Mind you we also had to leg it a few times as well. We did occaisionally find big bags of dog and cat food though, which we donated to various animal charities, who were only too grateful. Take care out there and good hunting.

did this as a kid, texas home stores had lots of large bins and sold electricals along with other diy. display tools would get binned when a new model came out. me my mates were in a bin, found a few drills and jigsaw which we used to make gocarts. while sitting on display mattress in a bin some didicoy turn up doing the same, we gave each other a fright as when they opened the top we jumped out

I live above 2 charity shops and they throw away so much and it’s things they could give for free. I find it really weird how they treat their rubbish as if it’s precious. Everything has been given to them and in effect it’s rubbish bcos the first owners gave it away. Then the charity shop decides they don’t want it either so it’s rubbish twice over but they get really annoyed if someone takes out of their bins. I’ve been doing it for 2 years now and giving it to the free stuff sites. In all that time I’ve given away so much stuff. Only 1 thing wasn’t wanted so I put it back in the charity bin 😊

We used to let locals go through the bins the day before pick up. I worked in a charity shop and the manager was brilliant. Truth is we do get given some tat and unless you have adequate storage it's hard. We used to rotate stock when it wasn't selling with our other shops. And we donated coats sleeping bags tor he's camp stoves all sorts to people in Manchester

when ive done the odd dumpster dive myslef ,for some reason ,you just seem to know if a bin has stuff for the picking ,its like a sixth sense ,haha i can smell it ,,here is sydney now most bin have 2 big bars and chains locmking shut,

I've subscribed, watched a few of these vids now, I watch Mike The Scavenger from USA, though he targets scrap metal he does grab somethings of value or find something like stolen and attempts to return it to owner. It's not theft nor criminal damage, not unless you take blatantly obvious stock by loading bays that's usually so obvious, some companies do hire security and can request you to leave, I think it's more to do with their insurance policy or to do with Health and Safety and you get injured then try to bring a claim against the company.

Don't these stores have to recycle? A bin labelled general waste crammed full of recyclable cardboard? I'm also in Kent and we get harrassed by the local authority if we don't recycle. Why should business get away with it?

its never been theft by finding, taking something that another has lost is theft by finding the items in the bin are not lost!!!!. this is dumpster diving skipping or freeganism it is not even in the polices jurisdiction to prosecute for it, it is the environment agencies. and the companies throw away so much waste illegally that it would be extremely embarrassing for them to prosecute anyone for recycling and saving items from damaging the environment IE DUMPSTER DIVERS and not prosecuting the companies who are illegally throwing away items they shouldn't be and trust me there are tens of thousands of them. hope this answers your question.

My only concern is GDPR with things like computers and laptops. Let's hope companies who throw out electronics have wiped all the data. Saying that, with the right software, it is possible to retrieve deleted data and files.
