Dumpster Diving- This looks good! Employees didn't throw the bags in the dumpster?

Heads up on the bedding: Our shelter won’t take them they have so many…but the main reason is this particular horrific red paint! It won’t come all the way out no matter how I try or how much I scrub or what I use on it! I’ll get it to a light pink and it still bleeds forevvvvver! In the beginning I gave some blankets to Amanda to use for her senior dog Pumbaa before he passed because he was having incontinence problems and was going through bedding quickly at the end. He was a white dog and he got stained pink in a spot where he layed on the pink spot I couldn’t get out! FREAKED ME OUT! No way will I give these to pets or homeless or babies or anything that could rub off on a living thing…I don’t know what’s in the paint and it’s really really awful to scrub and get out (on porous materials-super easy on synthetics and hard surfaces…but I cannot get it all the way out of natural materials especially). I’ve tried it all! All the googone types, wd40, citrus based cleansers, totally awesome, alcohol (including several brands of hand sanitizer), turpentine, paint thinner, hairspray, carpet cleaners, dry cleaner fluid, Zote, Dawn, nail polish remover, brake cleaner, automotive cleaners…and on and on. It’s the WORST! 🙈🙈 And yes! I feel awful about it but I don’t know what to do! It’s always gone if I leave it so someone’s taking stuff with paint and doing something with it so that’s good! 💃🏼

Have you tried oxi clean the stain remover I had some black spray paint get on a pair of my favorite jeans and didn't notice it until I sat on my light tan blanket so I took them both put them in the bathtub with warm water and oxi clean stain remover and left them over night then next morning after I wake up and had some coffee I went drained out the water and rung them out as good as I could then put them in the washer warm water and my regular washing detergent and a little bit of dawn not a lot or it'll foam up to much and when done put in dryer on low heat and when I took them out the paint was gone so if you haven't tried it go ahead and do so and see if it will work for you

Have you ever tried Dawn dish soap and peroxide 50/50 and use it as a stain remover it takes out grease after you washed your clothes and ride it it'll still take it out. It'll take out dried blood I use it for everything possible when. When I was told about it but now I'm a Believer it might work on the paint you might have to scrub it and do it a second time I hope it works for you. And if any of you were out there with little ones don't throw them away try this on them first good luck

I would get tired of trying to get the paint out myself dont blame you for leaving them and after it rained can only imagine what they smelt like and how heavy they might have been. I have straight hair, but I found after I wash my hair I use the brush I have no frizz, it also curls my hair a little, if you want some curls you have to hold it on the hair for a little while.

I owned my own dog boutique and grooming salon for over 10 years and worked closely with several animal rescues. I’m sure ANY rescue would absolutely LOVE any blankets, towels, rugs, etc even if they do have paint on them. Pups can only detect a couple of primary colors so I don’t think any of them would reject a soft place to lay just because of a little red paint. 😂 just being silly but seriously, donating those items to rescues or even vet offices is a great way of keeping more items out of the landfill. I hope this suggestion is seen and helps for future dives. Much love to you both!!🤗

I totally would! But…the paint bleeds! It stained Amanda’s white dog pink in a spot from a blanket I gave them that I couldn’t get all the red out of (it was pink at that point) and it stained him still! 🙈 it’s super greasy and bleeds forever and who knows what’s in it? I can’t in good conscience give them to a shelter or homeless or give away to someone 🙈

I did use a sprayed pillow once before that I got lost of it out of and I put it in a pillow protector and then used it in with a sham…when I went to wash the sham I saw pink had bled through the white protector and onto the inside of the sham! 🙈🙈 This red paint is serious! It bleeds forever!

yes Marlie is correct! It bleeds through the covers! I used a pillow with a pillow protector on it and then put in a sham and when I went to do the laundry the pillow protector was ruined! Pink forever! And bigger than the original spray section AND it bled through to the inside of the sham! Didn’t make its way all the way through thank goodness but it definitely is a bleeding paint…no matter how much you get out if it’s light pink and washed a few times it still manages to bleed on anything it rubs 😆

I’ve thought about that but the problem is the bleeding…it bleeds FOREVER! It’s greasy and what the heck is in the chemicals…what is it made out of and why does it bleed on everything it touches? It’s really greasy and just comes off on things forever no matter how Much I try to get it out. 🙈 so…a curtain might be fine since no one touches it but anything a human or pet would sit or touch or lay on or another material would rub against, it will bleed on them! I saw a video from a reputable car detailer that shared their secret stain remover that he guaranteed would remove any kind of stain (paint, tar ECT...) From fabric. I believe it was dawn platinum, awesome, oxi clean and it was a measured recipe. Id send it 2 u if i knew how but i don't...🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Be careful with anything editable in a dumpster. Plastic while sealed, chemicals can still leak thru many plastics. In my area they treat their dumpsters with pesticides to cut down on maggots, mosquitos and pests. I would hate for anything like that to leak into any editable products you may consume if those dumpsters are treated. The chemical residue can last a long time especially in a wet dumpster.
