Where are you living? Median income for a plumber is 55k a year or around 26 bucks an hour. I am an auto tech and make 38 an hour. I know what you stated is possible but not normal at all and not for a kid out of high school to be anywhere near for a very long time. I was at the Seattle airport waiting for my grandson to come in when I started a discussion with a lady who had moved there from Texas, not knowing her boyfriend was black. I am not prejudiced so it made no difference to me but they're in the conversation when I said I had many black friends. Making that comment riled her as well as a lady sitting six feet down from us! The young man advocating for college should ask himself,'Why should a company pay a person 75 - 100 k a year'? If he is honest, then he will realize that possession of hard skills that are in demand drives those types of salaries. Hard skills are not easy to acquire. Charlie pointed out those degree programs. Compare the degree of difficulty of an engineering curriculum with that of a humanities curriculum. Engineering is a field that justifies college. Humanities does not.

Also, asking more questions before giving the other person the opportunity to get 3 words into the answer of your previous question.. It's rude and, again, not productive.. I went to trade school for 15k for a 9 month program. Already paid off my loans for that. It’s definitely a good route to go and there are a lot of different options for the trade. Be warned though, there are good trade schools and there are bad ones lol. Do your research. That’s whether you go to a 4 year or a trade school.
