I'm glad you're finding them useful. Drums are hard. I don't know how you do it. Requires too much brain partitioning, one limb doing this and the other doing that.....I can't even shake a Tamborine in time.

Appreciate the lesson! Very helpful. But I must say, the name is Dun RINgill, not Dun RUNgill. Important detail which was actually distracting me from focusing on the music.
@snoozedoctor3 жыл бұрын
Yep, have a hard time pronouncing that for some reason. It always comes out Rungill.

This is great! It explains a lot to me as I tried learning it off a tab on ultimate guitar which sent me down the wrong path and made it much harder to play. This is much better. Love this song. Many thanks.
@snoozedoctor4 жыл бұрын
Most of the covers I watched here had it mostly right. Excepting the G/C chord on the verses, the Fsus2 chord on the chorus and the fact that the arpeggios are played on the same strings each time. They steered me though.

Excellent rendition of a classic Tull song, thanks for it. Agree on the double tracking of the guitars too. Keep up the good work.

I’ve subscribed to your channel and I love all the songs you were choosing so much, obviously they are the acoustic songs because that’s what you’re doing. However, please rethink your format. I would love to hear you play through the song on guitar first. Because the songs are great, That’s why. And then proceed with the lesson.

Thanks for the input! I think you are right. I'll start doing that. I've kinda wanted to jump right into the lesson, but it would provide more context.

It's Dun Ring hill, not Dun Rung hill
@snoozedoctor Жыл бұрын
Aware of that, thank you. I tried to find Dun Ringill when I was on Isle of Skye this summer. Easy to find on the map but less so in practicality. Trails are not marked very well over there and I didn't have time to seek out local knowledge. I was bummed I missed it.

@@snoozedoctor it's a beautiful island. Ian Anderson used to own a fish farm there many years ago but not sure if he still does. The seas and sea life around the coast there is beautiful. Used to catch a short ferry to get there but now it's been connected by a short road bridge.
@snoozedoctor Жыл бұрын
@@stuarttaylor4990 Yeah, he sold that operation many years ago. He owned the Strathaird estate there until the mid to late 90s when he sold it to the John Muir trust. Now it's open to hikers which is cool. I was looking for that Dun Ringill trailhead but couldn't find it. Stopped at a little ice cream stand nearby that was run by two nice middle-aged ladies. I asked one about Ian's estate, where the big house was, etc. One of them perked up and said that her father was the contractor who remodeled the old estate house for him back the in 80s. She was around him all the time during that period and said he was very nice to her. She pointed out a smaller newer house right by the water that she said Ian had built. It was modest and wasn't extravagant. She acted quite surprised that someone who ask about Ian, I guess it's not a common occurrence. Now Ian lives on a huge old estate south of London.
