Tidal Gardens this is the best video i have seen on the duncan coral. I bought a one head duncan coral a few weeks ago. And do not know much about them. And have been feeding him about everyday small amount of food. I will cut the feeding back now. I really like the coral cause im new and is my only coral and i have cheap led lights. That came with my tank. I really need to upgrade the lights. Good lights just cost so much. Anyways thanks for your video i will subscribe to your channel. Keep up the great videos.

Duncans were the first coral I really felt like I had success and still one of my favorites. Mine have been in medium flow and medium light like you suggest.

Got 2 of them in 2012 as my first two corals...One with 1 polyp, the other with 2 heads. 6 years later, they've been through everything with me - multiple tanks, dinos, crashes, etc, but they are going strong. Each bunch is well over 75-100 heads now and are each soft-ball sized - and have great motion. I've kept them at multiple PAR levels and multiple flows, and they don't really care - they are always extended and have a nice pink/purple polyp with a bright green base (and disk). Many people think they are anemones at first glance - especially considering my clowns love them, and lay eggs on their underside. Definitely recommended for an easy coral that has a great growth upside as well as good motion in the flow.

Ive had a couple Duncans in my tank for about a year now. Bought them with two heads now one has 12 heads and the other 9. The one is positioned in the sand bed, while the other is higher up in the rock work. One of my favorite corals. Very easy to care for. Great video.

I have two head Duncan coral and it is one of my faves so far as it is fun to watch it will eat anything I feed it reef roids, brine shrimp and it does catch the odd pellet of food and will eat anything that lands on it. I love the colour of green it is right up there with my elegance coral. I would like to see it grow more polyps some day. I am new to the saltwater scene I am trying this coral and seems to be okay thus far I have zoa’s a toadstool and some other easier corals I like the Duncan coral a lot I might get a few more.

Hi! I want to get one but I’m no sure where to place it.I know u gave some recommendations but still unsure because the places that doesn’t have enough light doesn’t have enough flow and u said they like flow. I have an Elegance and is no doing well I got it 3 week ago it try to open still closed.I putted between 2 Rocks but still 🤷‍♀️ I turned down the lights too a bit they were at 40% now at 25% I have Ecotech G5’s so the rest of my corals are fine just that one. So if an Elegance is no doing well probably this one either?

Do you notice differences in the tentacles length between the different types such as in your video the more branching type seem to have longer tentacles than the more closely bunched up heads of the less branching ? Or is this simply lighting or flow related?

1:24 - so, mine grows like the one on the left and in the local stores I see them growing like the one on the right. I was puzzled and thinking I'm doing something wrong, like, too much light or current or food. Don't know... I just wanted to see the long green branches and now I don't see the trunk at all, because all the heads are covering it. So, it's just a genetic?
