Very good on BAT part, glad they pulled the auction. A shame of Duncan though, I was looking to buy a Crown wagon from them, but I'll be looking elsewhere now. No way would I trust the condition of their cars now.

@@PoolNinjasTN That's the problem though. I live many hours away. The closest ones to me where just busted for importing r34s, so Ducan was the closest one. At this point I think it will be easier to just get a clean us spec Cresida or fb rx7.

I have a 94 Crown Wagon Royal I'll be selling soon. Only issue is it needs a new ECU and I've been having a tough time finding one, once that's in it will be good to go.

My girlfriend's dad bought three Mk4 Supras from Duncan a couple years ago. After the first one broke down, he bought another. After that one broke down, he bought his third. I always knew something HAD to be sketchy about this guy. It's nice to know he's finally been caught selling bad cars marketed as "mint". If I had one thing to say, it would be to STAY AWAY FROM DUNCAN IMPORTS.

Not the 1st time someone tried to pull something like this on a 240SX. Remember that 1997 black 600-mile example a few years ago? These cars are so rare in mint condition.

I reached out to Duncan imports on a few occasions to ask about a Hilux Surf they had in stock. They never got back to me, and after watching this video, I glad they did not. I was frustrated at first, but see now that I dodged a bullet.

Heres my question why does an s14 with 590 miles from blacksburg, va have rust build up? From the looks of the engine bay and underside it looks like its been driven thousands of miles. And it can't just be age, why my next door neighbor has an all original E30 M3 with roughly 20k miles and it doesn't have a spec of rust anywhere on the car.

Dealer bidding up their own cars is nothing new. I used to buy cars for a large (st) used car dealer and I’ve caught many dealers and their buddies “running” up the bids. Way more exciting in the auction lane live.

Question for anyone who has purchased from Duncan... Have you ever received paperwork about the car? When I got my car, I called and called about any importation documents and all I got was "Paperwork was surrendered to the state when we got the title." Not only that, but my VIN was very sketchy, like REALLY sketchy. All they said was "The VIN was translated from Japanese." except those characters English pronunciation didn't match the title.... This made the car impossible to sell outside Facebook, such as BAT.

I bought a JDM import from them in November. Nothing special, but an interesting car with low miles in good shape. Smooth transaction and the car has been great- not perfect, but reasonable considering its age. I would like to know what BaT found out. Even if that bidder was Gary Duncan, his business' inventory and personal collection aren't necessarily the same thing. He would potentially need to legitimately buy it from the business even if he is the owner. Or maybe he really was shilling. Either way, bad look. Regarding the condition of the car, they are very transparent about their cars being "as-is" and having limited history on them. That's just part of the risk when you buy used cars that are not extensively documented. And if you're wanting to buy a 500-mile car like this, you will almost certainly know more than the seller does about the vehicle.

What you're not understanding is that it's been PROVEN that Duncan KNEW about the accident history, and KNOWINGLY OMITTED IT from the auction listing. Also, how in the hell would a random person off the street somehow know more about a car's history than the seller?

I've bought two vehicles from duncan. My 1992 Suzuki carry and my current DD 1995 Toyota Crown Majesta. I've had no issues so far for both of them nearing 30 years old.

I’ve purchased a car from Duncan Imports, a 1990 Toyota Sera. When i got it, everything was good with the car other than the cold AC which they lied about when i facetimed them before i purchased the car. Was a minor fix, just needed a recharge, but if the AC didnt work at all, makes me wonder if they wouldve told me about it, or any other issue i asked about for that matter 🤔 also their “third-party inspections” is BS. They said they inspected my car and said everything was good but failed to mention an obvious oil leak that showed from underneath the car. The dealership is very sketch in some areas, they just know how to hide it

Right, so.... given it basically never seen the road, it would need a refresh of every replacement item anyways. I'd say 6k max, service the car, and use the car for what its built for and that is... driving. History is sketchy as it is already but it can be salvaged if the next owner does it right. Its a clean slate, dirty but clean. And if it ever gets sold by a new owner, hopefully they actually stay true to the history of that car.
