Love you Duncan and the newsboys.I disagree with anyone who says he is a drummer because he is not ordinary,and I mean this in a good way he does more than just sit there.he worships god and puts entertainment and effort on his part I mean dood he has his drums spin around when the newsboys play Jesus freak,great song.people say he over does it but you can never over worship God.

The sound is not because the mics are too close but because it is coming from the GoPro when it was recording it was right by the floor toms. the mics have to be that close to pick up the drums properly. So you get mostly the floor toms and the rest of his drum kit when the GoPro is right there recording the sound and video. The band is playing through a PA System which is in front of the band, the band would then be wearing ear buds prob wireless to hear it the way the crowd hears it. Duncan Phillips is prob my favorite drummer, I have to admit he is very hard to copy when you try to do Newsboys songs. I would say the hardest song they have out to do a cover on is the Revelation Song.
